Hard to argue they've done anything to deserve more. Monti's big offseason has been mostly a dud.

I actually think this is just the typical Cards disrespect just like the betting market says we will be worst in the division.

We were 6.5 last season so hoping we overachieve this season again.

I’d imagine it goes up after the draft and more bets come in. If you think it’s higher, bet now, if you think it’s lower wait till after the draft to bet.

The schedule last was matched up with an average division and the best division in the league. This year the match-up is against the two worst divisions in the NFL.

It’s the team with most young players in the league, who all should improve.

Monti had an okay - not great off-season adding the best edge and the 2nd or 3rd best DT.

This is an over bet

Vegas is spot on. Until this team proves anything, there is absolutely no guarantee of a winning record, let alone playoffs. That makes the under very tempting; it's the norm for us. OTOH, with some of the additions, and you would hope a banner draft (I have my well-documented doubts), you would have to think that this team can overcome KM's chokeability to at least get to 9 wins, if not the playoffs.

In other words, the oddsmakers definitely know what they're doing.

This is an over bet

This is an optimistic outlook, which I can't fault. OTOH, not all young players improved. You can't count on that. Also, how many times did we count the Rams as down and out? You never know what's going to happen in a division season to season. Remember when the Texans were supposed to bomb to give us a top pick?

That's the pessimistic outlook. I can see both sides of the argument on this one. Right now, with the number at 8.5, I would keep my money in my pocket.

An easy stay away line for me. Bet the over if it hits 7.5 and the under if it hits 9.5.

Also, betting win totals before you see the actual schedule is not a great idea.

They have to post an over/under. Like any number, its just a number.

Based on what I’m seeing it’s a number drawing both sides of the fence nothing more or less.

Zero impact on the outcome of the upcoming season.

Don't understand what argument, that the Cards didn't do a ton with the resources they had in the offseason? Did you expect them to get more credit than the 9th most improved team?

Your positions on the division being weaker and schedule being better isn't based on anything Monti did.

Sure, some of the young players *should* improve, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I agree, it was an ok offseason, but I think many of us were expecting more, especially after basically wasting the last 2 seasons.

But that fact that you feel that Monti should have done more is irrelevant (I feel the same).

The team is going to be better. 21 draft picks over two years and only 2 player that weren’t limited by injury have not contributed to the team. That’s 19 players. Are you saying that there will be no improvement when injured players return and the rest get more experience - for 19 players!

The schedule is much easier. Fact. 49ers and Seahawks are worse than last year. AFC and NFC south instead of NFC north and AFC East

That impacts the record no matter how disappointed you are with Monti
