On every roster there are a dozen or more unsung solid types who won't make the Pro Bowl but who can be trusted to provide consistency to a number of roster spots.

Good ( though not great) signing. We need guys like that.

Definitely not, but if we don't end up with Q or someone like Ed Oliver, Suh is still out there... Which would be intriguing.

Not as bad as you make it out to be. The Cards only need Two DE and a NT as starters (3 players).

Corey Peters is a very good NT.

Darius Philon was fantastic in San Diego and I believe he will be good in Az.

So there is one starting spot up for grabs. (Nkemdiche, Gunter, Draft Pick)?

I heard Keim actually laid under the table on this one instead of standing on it. Bidwill is tired of buying new tables.

The fear comes from these guys stuffing the run, getting a push and Jones and BOSA charging from the outside.

They are going to carry 7, 8 DL as they did when we last ran a 3-4 base.

We have to remember the coaching staff has reviewed the tapes on all these guys. I know Kiem has the final say but I would think if the line coach sees something or someone he likes he passes that along.

Really happy he will be back. Thought he played well last season. A bright spot to be honest.

Gunter deserves to be on a 53 man roster. Should he be a starter is up for discussion. I guess Gunter realizes this too now.

One of the most overrated players on this board gets no interest in free agency, comes back for nothing, and remains wildly overrated.

It should speak volumes to fans about Gunter's value that no team was willing to potentially endanger a 6th round comp pick to sign him.

I mean I agree with you that he is no world beater. But I would contend the number of DT's that are you can count on one hand.

He's not great, but he is at least decent depth for a position we are very short of it.

You can also count on him :)

Replacement level player....but that means you actually have to have a replacement level player to replace them or it's a downgrade.

He was Keim's annual small school pick. This move probably will make Keim draft more prospects from no-name schools like John Brown and Chad Williams.

And David Johnson
