CARDINALS AGREE TO

TERMS WITH ERIC GREEN

Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals today announced that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year contract with cornerback Eric Green. The Virginia Tech product was the first of Arizona’s two third-round selections in the 2005 NFL Draft and the 75th pick overall. In accordance with club policy, terms were not disclosed.

Green started every game of his senior season in 2004, recording 36 tackles (20 solos) with one interception and five pass deflections in 13 games. The Clewiston, Florida native also won the President’s Award for leadership in 2004.

The 5-11, 188-pounder finished his collegiate career by registering 143 tackles (91 solos) with 5.5 stops for losses of 39 yards, three forced fumbles, four blocked kicks and 25 pass deflections. He also had eight interceptions for 264 yards in returns and two touchdowns while playing in 47 career games (27 starts).

The only two of the team’s seven 2005 draft picks who remain without a contract agreement are cornerback Antrel Rolle (first round) and running back J.J. Arrington (second round).

It's funny how the article says "Cardinals reach agreement with Eric Green," and right below it says FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE.
