Horton was McFadden's position coach last season when he returned to form after a poor season in AZ.

Why this signing is so funny eludes me.
McFadden < Turtle

Funny how a pass rush can make the worst CB's into a halfway decent player

The purpose of your post eludes me.

Surely everyone can understand the annoyance of watching the team constantly sifting though the Steelers' garbage looking for scraps of food.

As noted, the scraps from a rich man's table may be better than what one might serve at their own table. I have found this true in life.

 I realize times are tough but if you're really stealing scraps from some rich guy's table, I could give you some of my old canned goods.

If Horton wanted him, that's good enough for me.

Same here. He was trained in the Pitt systemand, who knows, we may have another Jefferson.

we may have another jefferson? boy... people are quick to crown this kid after one good pre-season game after the Raiders.

Or better. By all accounts he was a knockdown CB at Clemson and was having a fantastic pre season. Was a surprise cut apparently. We can hope.

Absolutely a great pick up.....but with Taylor and he being signed, what happens next?

My guess is Alphonso Smith gets waived and put on the PS.

It's hardly a crowning, but, Jefferson's talents, if not accomplishments, are evident to this observer.

I want the castoffs from the rich man, not some old canned goods. ;)

I was watching on TV awhile back, that some of the needy who get fed in food kitchens occasionally get fed food from some upper end banquet leftovers that included exquisite food items. Just saying it happens.

Now if I can only find someone filthy rich and rummage through their garbage. :D

Totally agree.

If Bugel wanted him that's good enough for me.

If Ryan wanted him that's good enough for me.

If Tobin wanted him that's good enough for me.

If McGinnis wanted him that's good enough for me.

If Green wanted him that's good enough for me.

:bang:

( Well actually if Green wanted him it was good enough for me. Too bad he was a terrible game day coach.)

Not related to the topic on hand but I have noticed that fans from Texas use the :bang: smiley 43% of the time. :D

our winning percentage is that high?

488-691. .414

98 more losses than the Lions who have been trying mightily to close the gap the last few years.

179 more than our old citymates the Bears.

:(

While I understand the skepticism about signing old Steelers, I am not really sure that this applies. First, he is young with solid college play to reinforce his potential. Two, it is for depth at a position of need, and more importantly it is a player that knows the system and can be brought to speed faster. Third, what else was out there besides Joselio Hanson?

Of all the retreads that could have been brought in, I prefer the 6'0, 24 year old corner from a major college program who already knows the system. I get that you may not be happy about our players at corner, but this is far from the normal "Steeler Castoff" signing.

But this steelers guys was a part of the secondary. So this is horton's guy (assumed) from the steelers rather than whiz's/grimm's guy from the steelers.

Certainly couldn't be worse than Green, so at least it's an improvement. Jefferson and Peterson seem like locks for starting positions right now. Should be a very good combo 2-3 years down the road, not so much to start, however.

He has a year headstart from all our other corners with the system, that's good enough in its own right.

Sadly that is still considered stealing these days by many's standards, but I digress......

Good pick up. Knows what Horton wants, and Horton knows what he has in the guy.

Why bash a guy for bringing in people he has worked with before ? Never understood the problem with that. Are we angry the Cardinals are trying to be smart about things ?

One bird in the hand is worth two in the bush ?
