I think I view the room differently than the Cardinals do. I would hope they aren't done adding, but they might be. Koonce or Ossai would be nice ways to add potentially above average bodies to the roster. A trade for Trey would be unbelievable.

I think they add another Edge via the Draft. Right now I hope they look at RG and DT with their next moves in FA.

See this gives me the grip. You see it. I see it. We all see it. Hendrickson along with Nolan ( Wharton) with Sweat would instantly turn this defense into a top 8-10 defense and a true division contender.

That is much better for what we need financially and fit for talent. And, for the draft. I like the DTs we can get at #16 a little more than the edge players
We will see what happens with Hernandez but we already resigned Evan Brown. Oline is possible in the first round now if he leaves.

It is. If one of the best 2 olinemen fall that could happen. But, my God, there has never been a better draft for DTs and the Chiefs and Eagles just showed the world how DT is becoming a premier position.

Good job getting Sweat. Hopefully the 1st rounder will be a DT. Grant looked like a good DT at UM. Nolan looks good. Some believe Monti wants to trade down a couple spots, still get his man and get a 2nd second rounder. Then trade up for a target with that additional pick.

The money matters less to me. I am happy they brought in a front 5 player who might be able to be a difference maker.
it's the combo that I like. means they SHOULD be able to keep adding at least one more impact player in FA. not that they WILL, but they should and i'l coast on the hopium of this move for a little bit until it runs out.

Signed edge rusher Josh Sweat (4 years, $76.4 million, $41 million guaranteed)
Grade: D

Analysis: This is such a Cardinals move. They missed out on the crown jewel of the free agent defensive line crop – Milton Williams – and instead overpaid for an edge who is a solid player, but is not going to inject fear into opposing linemen.

Sweat can both rush the passer and defend the run at an above average level, so he’s a useful piece, but the Cardinals needed a game-wrecker.

I fully believe Sweat was a product of a dominant defensive line, as he didn’t get nearly the attention of most standout edge-rushers since Philly was so good everywhere else. The Cardinals’ defensive front is substantially worse, and Sweat’s effectiveness will be affected by the move.

The market for Sweat clearly was not super hot, and the Cardinals made a mistake here after missing out on Williams. The smart move would have been to trade for Trey Hendrickson, who is leaps and bounds better than Sweat despite being 30 years old.
