As of Thursday morning, the NFLPA website had the Cardinals listed with about $5.5 million in salary cap space. Not all rookies will impact the cap in the offseason, when only the top 51 cap numbers are figured into the team’s cap total.

Speeding through signings is becoming more and more prevalent around the league. The Chicago Bears, who were at the forefront of quick deals after the 2011 collective bargaining agreement, have already signed their entire draft class.

Revenues from the new stadium means no longer having to wait for the TV money in September to sign draft picks for the Cardinals.

 to every one who has purchased season tix at UPS.

Sorry BIM there was no milk icon. :p

Maybe I am missing something, but is this even a big deal any more? Rookie contracts are all slotted, so it's easy to sign them.

Granted years ago, Cards used to have horrible holdouts, but with slotting it is no longer a problem.

considering ALL contracts were handled as if the front office wanted to do anything BUT sign them. I think so. Contracts that were obviously super high priority didn't get done in nearly a timely manner. And are still costing this team. Fitz and DD still hurt us because they were done so terribly. We lost Dansby, and paid stupid, stupid obscene money for Kolb. Any contract that's done right is a reason to celebrate IMO

I think it's very important. I am one of those who complain every year why it takes so long to sign our guys. Even last year when they were slotted the FO still waited a long time and other teams were signing their players and moving on to other business.

I think it shows good faith by the FO and security for the players knowing they are signed as soon as possible. Get it out of the way and move on to working hard and learning the plays.

The Cardinals do not release contract figures, but according to overthecap.com, the contracts signed should be worth the following:

Tight end Troy Niklas, the second round pick: $1.25 million signing bonus, $4 million total value, $731,500 2014 cap figure.

Defensive end Kareen Martin, a third-round selection: $568,000 signing bonus, $2.85 million total value, $562,000 cap number.

Brown, also a third-rounder, $543,000 signing bonus, $2.8 million total value, $556,000 cap number.
Link.

The only negotiation is the amount of guaranteed money. Even that is not much of a discussion in most cases.

Gone are the days of holdouts waiting to be signed in the 2nd week of the season. Such a relief.
