STRENGTHS Very well put together for his size. Has a 44 1/2-inch vertical jump. Displays top-end, finishing speed in the return game and can pull away from the pack (returned three kickoffs for TDs as a senior). Tracks the ball well over his shoulder and is a reliable catcher. Scraps and battles for extra yardage after the catch. Gritty blocker. Flashes explosive, playmaking ability. Nice vision and creativity after the catch. Rare speed to scream off edge in blocking situations.

WEAKNESSES Small and a bit straight-linish, gearing down to cut. Ran a simple route tree and does not separate with much savvy. Drifts in his routes. Could stand to do a better job stemming and setting up defensive backs. Was not challenged by Lone Star Football Conference competition.

DRAFT PROJECTION Round 7-Priority free agent

BOTTOM LINE Possesses rare speed and leaping ability to factor immediately in the return game and bring additional value as a slot receiver. Unique athletic traits could allow him to overcome lack of size.

Its nice to see players signed from the new Veterans Combine. Don't know if he will make the final squad but the Cards do need a kick returner.

Sounds like they will look at him as a returner and a situational deep threat. His pass routes will be one cut and go.

I like the pickup... kid is tough and not afraid to take a hit over the middle - and could be invaluable for punt returns (already better than Ginn).

I'm guessing it went something like this:

Goddell (at the owner's meeting): "We need to make sure at least one guy is signed who went to this thing... who is planning to sign one of them?"

<silence>

Goddell: "Well, since you wanted to host this thing Bidwill, you need to sign someone."

Bidwill: "BA would probably take the fastest receiver -- just give us him."

FWIW, Adam Carriker was the only guy who wanted to bench press at the veteran's combine. He put up 40 reps.

I was thinking the same. Doubtful since Webter Slaughter was tall...maybe the TV Webster ;):D

Well, he was only 6' and 175 lbs...not exactly huge...

Just looked him up, though...doesn't look like his kids are old enough.

Maybe they can get a fan section in the End Zone and call it "Welcome to the Slaughter House".

I just looked him up and the stats from his college site are nowhere near what Urban wrote. Was an academic all-conference though. Seems like a good, hardworking kid. Maybe we have a STer.

Urban had to slop something together after the NFL made us sign someone from this charade of a thing.
