When is the "Wolfley says he would be a horrible safety and cannot make open tackles" post set for?

You guys kill me. The guy has been terrible for 3 years running. He even looks bad against 2nd and 3rd string WR's.

When you get to go man up against the likes of Boldin and Fitz every day in practice these other guys should be easy. The guy just doesnt have what it takes.

Wow, you know I never thought of it that way.

I wonder if those two destroyed his confidence.

It would still make the other guys he faces much easier. The guy is playing out of position. He is still very talented.

We could of saved cap room for other areas of need without signing Holt.

Thats exactly where he needs to be is at safety. hes a superb open field tackler and just quick enough to handle that psoition IMO.
There is no doubt he is physical. Another reason he gets those PI calls. He would excel as a Saftey.

He's superb at drawing the penalty flag because he frequently tackles via the face mask. To play safety you need instincts and anticipation IMO, neither of which Rolle has. Beside he doesn't want to play safety.

He's a physical CB in a league that penalizes that while rewarding finesse and technique and speed.

No big deal, with his signing bonus properly invested, he never has to work again.

Rolle is a physical for sure, at safety he'd be really good. He just isn't doing anythng at CB position.
As far as Aaron Glenn...eh...I guess he didn't wanna play here so, ah well

He COULD be very good at safety. At this point, even as one of his biggest supporters. I am not sure he would be. IMO you need to to be physical, a sure tackler, etc. He has that. However, you also have to know how to play angles (which we really aren't sure about) and you also have to be able to play the ball well in the air. (which he cannot do)

It pains me to say, but letting Rolle go may be our best option.

Although Rolle can run force well as a corner, he's not very good at breaking down and covering/tackling guys in space - something a safety has to do.

Also - I don't think you want to get rid of a guy unless you have someone on board who's a better replacement. Good CB's do not grow on trees. Right now, Rolle represents our best nickel guy.

Our best option right now is to coach him up so that he's playing to an acceptable or even better standard - rather than try make our next best corner the nickel guy and then "pray."

Regarding Glenn - It wasn't a matter of his deciding just between us and the Jags - there were four or five other teams who were also in the running for his services.
