Tempe, AZ – The Arizona Cardinals Football Club will host “Fan Fest 2007” presented by Alltel Wireless and Earnhardt Ford on Saturday, May 12 from 1:30-5:00 p.m. at the Cardinals Training Facility in south Tempe (Warner and Hardy).

Fans will have the opportunity to watch Head Coach KEN WHISENHUNT and the 2007 Cardinals take the field and practice from 3:15-5:00 p.m. Other activities offered include the Earnhardt Ford Kids Zone and a children’s autograph session prior to practice from 2:45-3:15 p.m.

The children’s autograph session from 2:45-3:15 p.m. is open only to kids 12 years of age and younger and cooperation of adult fans is appreciated. Because of time constraints, there will be a one item per child limit and no posed photos will be permitted. In order to provide a fair and safe experience, a colored wristband system will be used and the colors will correspond to different sections of the autograph area. More detailed information will be provided on the autograph/roster card that all fans will receive upon entry and is also available at the team's website, www.azcardinals.com.

Cardinals cheerleaders and team mascot Big Red will also be on hand to sign autographs. Concessions will be available from Cousins Subs, Someburros, Farmer Johns, Dreyers, and Kettle Corn. Cardinals merchandise will also be on sale.

Admission and parking at the Cardinals facility are both free. Additional free parking is available at the Tempe Sports Complex north of the training facility and at the Honeywell parking lot west of the facility.

All fans will be subject to security screening prior to entry including an inspection of all items inside the facility. Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Video cameras, alcoholic beverages, coolers, umbrellas, glass bottles, banners, weapons, signs, flags, poles, tri-pods, and animals are among the items not permitted.

Cardinals ticket representatives will be on hand to sign up fans for the season ticket waiting list. Call (602) 379-0102 or register online at azcardinals.com for more information.

This is no fun for fans anymore. Just hot and awkward to attend and overly restrictive on player access. The organization no longer needs this and I'd guess the players and coaches probably dislike doing it too.

Time for the PR people to realize the Cards have more than a 20,000 to 30,000 fan base now. All that's needed is to win more games.

Wouldn't they have to pay for the use of it? With the expected crowd, they'd have to use the floor to accomodate everyone.

Why would the Cards have to pay to use their own stadium?

Does the Cardinal organization own or lease the stadium? Doesn't Glendale or someone else make money off of "non-football game" events?

The TSA owns the stadium and a management company runs it for them. The Cards are tenants. At least, that's how I think it works. Glendale collects sales taxes and some parking revenue.
