No way on Winston. He is getting older and slower. Let Massie and Sowell fight it out for RT next year. If neither wins it, Winston will still be sitting there waiting for a job and you then bring him back then.

I agree with the rest and would say Dray would be a medium priority to me.

Did you see how physical Winston played down the stretch?

Plus, the line developed some chemistry---it might be a good idea to keep as many of them as we can, while getting Cooper back and adding a LT, either through FA or the draft.

I changed Dray---I think you are right. He had a solid season.

I should say though too, Banky, that imho, medium priority means if the price and fit are right, that it could go either way. I could see Winston accepting a very reasonable contract.

I think unity and familiarity is huge on the offensive line. Winston won't break the bank. Every team needs depth on the o-line.

That is a very valid point. Too much turnover could be bad.

I agree with your priorities Mitch on our free agents...though, I would have list Dansby in orange as a ultra priority :)

I've seen lots of last games, many seasons, and this team has more team in it the any other redbirds team I've seen. I'm talking every player that has been interviewed since the whiner game have all expressed in their own way that they really really just wish they could keep this team together. Bruce has these guys playing together and it's going to be rough for Keim to try and keep as many together as he can between short contracts and not messing with the 2015 plan. Awesome culture in our locker room these days! Lots of "winners" as you will hear them put it.

If he actually makes it to FA and isn't overpriced Donte Whitner would be a good pickup. Both to strengthen us at safety, and weaken SF.

Alameda Ta’amu

Ta'amu has a confirmed torn ACL. My guess is he won't be available at all in 2014.

Eric Winston is a keep at the right price. The current coaching staff isn't that high on Bobby Massie.

Then we've also lost the Badger for 2014.

Not necessarily they're completely different body types, you'd expect TM to be able to come back quicker he's about 150 pounds lighter.

I like the list but I would make Shaughnessy a high priority.

might be a PUP guy at the beginning of the season

ACLs are a 9 month injury now.

I'd bring Ballard TE - back too.

If we put an RFA tender on him, it would have to be a second-rounder to have any meaning. Because he was signed as a free agent, the original-pick compensation would mean the Cards would only have rights of first refusal, plus a cap hold of some $1.25M or so (maybe more, I dunno).

Basically, if you look to keep Ballard, you're probably foreclosing the possibility of bringing in a free agent TE to compete with Housler, and maybe closing the door on Jim Dray.

Except we don't know what kind of tears each one had. If HB had a full tear and is a partial, then Ta'amu could be back sooner. Or vice versa. I think speculating on then they will be back is useless since we have no idea how bad each tear was and what was done to fix them.

Is Dan Williams an FA/RFA?

I don't believe so. I think that 2014 is a contract year for Williams.

Yup. Last year of his deal is 2014 with a $2.1M cap number. Sadly, Ta'amu's injury is the best thing that could've happened to Dumpster Dan.
