For being a step above the bottom, the Cardinals sure are worth a lot.
The Cardinals are worth an estimated $673 million, 31st in the 32-team NFL, according to Forbes magazine.
The Washington Redskins remained the league's most valuable franchise at $1.26 billion, an increase of 15 percent over last year. The Redskins, owned by Daniel Snyder, are most valuable primarily because of their ownership of 91,000-seat FedEx Field.
The Cardinals had the highest increase in value at 22 percent, yet they had revenue of $153 million, lowest in the NFL. However, the team posted a $16.2 million profit, according to Forbes. Every NFL team made money last year, with the Dallas Cowboys earning the most at $54.3 million.
Forbes said the Cardinals, long one of the lowest valued teams in the NFL, should see their stock rise significantly next year when they move into a new stadium in Glendale.
The Cardinals said they had no comment.
