They've done this before. I remember one year they started out preseason 3-0 then played DEN and got blown out like 38-10 and that's how they played the regular season. I want to be excited, but I've got 14 years of history going against it. I am happy for the wins for the moment, but I can't look forward yet. I just hope that they can move forward from this....

Actually they went 4-0 and then wnet 4-12 in the regular season. I think things will be different this year. Perhaps even us Cards fans are not taking the defensive play seriously enough because of the lack of national attention. What we have accomplished is amazing. I think rookie mistakes might cost us, but .500 is a very reasonable expectation.

Obviously we are not talking about the same preseason. One year, the Cards were 3-0 then they were blown out by DEN in game 4 and pooped out the rest of the season. I find myself optimistic this season as well, but I have been MORE optimistic than this in the past and been let down....

I think what's more important is how you win...Both vs. Dallas and Chicago the Cards were dominant...Less so vs. the Bolts...I am caustiously encouraged by this preseason...the best I've seen from the Cardinals in a loooooooong time...and outside expectations were soooo low....

If you are Tampa Bay winning in the pre-season is not that important. When you have had single digit win totals for the past few years, winning is important. We did not play starters any longer than anybody else. We executed well and made few mistakes. Our first string did not look sloppy, and the first string defense did well. Right now, I bet Dick Jauron wishes the performacnes were reversed.

That preseason game I think was the first Cards game I ever went to.
