Levon Kirkland as a coaching fellow, too. That guy could play.

Love me some BA.

“Coaching is nothing more than teaching,” Arians said Monday. “One thing I have learned from players is, ‘How are you going to make me better? If you can make me better, I don’t care if you’re the Green Hornet, man, I’ll listen.’ I really believe she’ll have a great opportunity with this internship through training camp to open some doors for her.”

Welcome to the Arizona Cardinals Jen! Good luck with the internship. Make us better.

Agree w/Bert. Arians does not give a crap about your draft position, skin color, ethnicity, or religion and now add gender to that list.

Best of luck Jen!

She has a sport psychology background, which pretty much means she's going to be doing things such as group talks about different facets of mental toughness, consult with coaches regarding players who are lacking in that area, and probably some one-on-one counseling for players in need. When I did my sports psychology internship for a local college football team, these are the responsibilities that I had.

I heard that she'll also get to be an assistant coach for the linebackers, which is really cool.

What does she know about playing middle linebacker in the NFL? I don't mean this in a rude way either

The thing to remember is that this is a coaching internship. I am sure that they have them every training camp and I don't think many people can name any of the previous coaching interns.

Yeah they are interns so they probably rotate them throughout camp to gain the most experience in a position which is not their forte. Got to see what these guys go through if you are going to try to get in their heads.

This is experience for future jobs when she is asked this question; What do you know about playing linebacker in the NFL?

Well I interned for the 2015 SUPER BOWL Champion Arizona Cardinals under 3x head coach of the year Bruce Arians. :D

I got a good friend who is a SOF Operator for this nation.

He credits his mom, along with her degree in sports psychology, as being amongst his biggest influences.

I wouldn't underestimate her ability or intention

Good background to help with the mental side of the game.
She played rugby at Boston College, and has played women’s football at several levels. The 37-year-old also holds a master’s degree in sport psychology and a PhD in psychology.

Maybe not much at LB, but she is also the first woman to play a non-kicking position on an all-men's pro team (semi pro). I think she was a RB. (EDIT: She also coached LB's and Special Teams for that team.)

Also, what did Todd Haley, a golfer by trade, know about football to earn his first coaching job? He did alright for himself.

This is really freaking cool!

Once again BA proves to be a man of his word. Congratulations coach Jen. Now help this team become the form tackling team it needs to become in order to bolster up our defense. Teach these guys to tackle with their heads up.

It actually sounds like everything she has accomplished so far has been leading up to a coaching job. That is quite an impressive resume.

Master's Degrees and Doctorates are impressive, but playing and coaching semi-pro football doesn't exactly make me think somebody is ready for the NFL, male or female. I'd be more excited if she had coached football on a full 100 yard field at a competitive high school or college level at some point. I guess we'll see, but I've got to imagine there is another woman out there with more true football coaching experience.
