Similar to the Falcon game, we dominate the turnover differential and somehow lose...

I've been one of Whiz's staunchest backers but this was unbearable. Leaving Lindley in was like sticking with a pitcher who just walked 10 straight hitters.

Leaving Lindley in was like sticking with a pitcher who just walked 10 batters instead of going to the pitcher who hit 9 straight batters the last time he pitched. I'd have gone with Skelton in the 4th quarter but I'm never going to cry about not seeing Skelton out there. Even DA is better than Lindley and I wouldn't care if we left DA on the bench in this game either.

With that logic, though, why even have Skelton still on the team? If you can't count on him to win a game, he should be gone.

Well, a backup QB does have a responsibility beyond being available to enter the game. Listen, I can't make a case for keeping Lindley on the field but I can easily make a case for never playing Skelton again. It's our misfortune (or our stupidity) that those two are our only available choices but I see no reason to bemoan the fact that we didn't replace the worst QB in the league with the 2nd worst QB in the league.

Skelton isnt good, he is very very bad, but you've got to do something. Lindley wasnt even throwing at receivers for the final 2 quarters, he was just throwing the ball no where, and typically while he had good protection. It would be on thing if he was just missing reads and missing a few targets but his passes but that wasnt the case. He was completely lost out there.

I'm right there too. Honestly, my biggest criticism of Whiz this year might just be what he's done with Heap these last two weeks. Sure Heap isn't is what he once was, but with the way this offense looks you honestly are going to bench someone who could contribute on that side of the ball... in favor of Jim Dray?!

Absolutely agree. Whiz, the entire offensive staff, Skelton, and Lindley have to go. While we are at it can we please have at least a CFL caliber line?

Sure, I agree with this - as I said, I'd have brought Skelton back in if it were up to me. I just don't agree with all the "fire Whiz, he's the dumbest coach ever" comments simply because he didn't bring back in a player that might have given us a .000000001% better chance to win. If you want to fire Whiz because he is at least partially responsible for the mess we're in, I'm all for it. I just think it's absurd to bash him for giving up on Skelton when he did and then bash him for not giving up on Lindley quickly enough.

OT - Sindey Rice just scored a TD and beat the Bears.

Yeah, I'm watching it now as they review the play. My question - Is the guy's name actually "Mike Pereira Former Head of NFL Officials"? Seriously, is it absolutely necessary to give us his resume every single time they go to him in a game?

I want him gone because he gave up on the team by not making a change. You have to try to win.

I'm sure you saw Lindley play today and it was bad. Actually the worse that I can remember. The Cardinals may have destroyed his confidence. It was a no-brainer to bring Skelton into the game. As many have pointed out Lindley was blindly throwing the ball. I'm sure the Jets don't think Greg McElroy is the answer at quarterback but they made the move to replace Sanchez to try and win a game. The Cardinals decided to go down with the ship.

Same info, different conclusion:

Skelton had one bad quarter and was benched "forever." Lindley was allowed to stay in for several quarters of really embarrassing play.

IMHO - If Skelton was put in for the final quarter (or even a few series) we win this game.

I don't like Wiz's QB decision. It cost us 1 - 3 games. It.may conceivably cost him his job.

Skelton has only had one bad quarter -- seriously?

I just don't see the "one bad quarter". Skelton was horrible and until we saw Lindley play, I wasn't sure there was anyone worse in the NFL.

THe most obvious reason is that a 3rd year QB who's REGRESSING from his 2nd year has no business playing.

Just like Skelton padded his stats versus those invisible prevent defenses.

Christmas Turkey.

Sorry I forgot we're not allowed to call out Texas players on this board.

This week it was Greene, last week Jackson. Against SF TWO big runs by Gore, against Buffalo it was Fred Jackson and there's been more.

Last year Acho was really good against the run and especially setting the edge, this year he's given up the outside for big runs all year.

But apparently while it's perfectly ok to call out Lenon, Dan Williams, Peterson etc, Acho is untouchable because of where he went to college.

Christmas Turkey right back at you.
