Overriding question - If the dude had to come in and play, could we win (at least half our games) with him?

Educated answer: Uh...uh...no. Bulger is "over" - kind of like John Navarre (only with a better track record). Good arm but no mobility. A cardboard cutout. (Bring back Rusty Lisch)!

Follow-up question - What about BSP?

Educated answer - Based on last year, the answer would have to be no. But there are reports that St. Pierre was playing hurt (bad back?) and feels a lot better this off-season. Based on that info, the answer would have to be "maybe" - or not.

Prediction - Cards plan to draft Tebow (possibly even as high as #26, though I hope and pray I am wrong). If they don't, I expect them to seriously consider Pike (#58, #88 or #89), Skelton or the two Browns (#123 or later).

OT: Deal!!! You mean of course Frango Mints....they stopped making them in Chicago for awhile but I think they are back in town now...yeah, they still sell them....I don't believe they will melt if I send them during the summer....martz+bulger will make sense for them...anything less than the playoff's and lovie and co are out the door...by the way i still call them the chicago cardinals to some of my minyon....unfortunately i go back that far with them.
We have a deal!

Start thinking about the six pack. Here's a link....http://www.beer100.com/brewpubs_a_to_k/colorado.htm

Or, you could just tell me what kind of beer you like and I can shop around and get something good for you. ...but of course, this is all academic because Bulger is going to one of the other 31 teams! ;)

Ok... We'll mark you down as - TEBOW at #26 to the Cards. ;)

This is a weak QB class, and a solid "D" draft. Why would you think that QB would be of interest in the first 4 rounds when we have a chance to stock up with players who can offer some immediate or returns in the near term?

I don't know how it's going to work out but if Matt plays at a very high level, if he does well, I'm going to laugh my ass off.

Please do not mark me down as TEBOW at #26 - my gut tells me there's a possibility but that doesn't mean that I think this logically will happen (nor that it's the wisest thing for the Cards to do).

Here's what's driving my instincts toward the possibility that the Cards might draft Tebow at #26: (1) He's a lefty - ideal eventual backup and replacement for Leinart. (2) I vaguely recall Wiz saying something nice about the kid's leadership intangibles and Wildcat-potential. (3) There has been recent buzz suggesting that Tebow does not get out of the first round and that some teams may even try to trade up to get him.

A couple of side considerations that keep me fascinated: (a) when evaluating QB's, the usual conflict is over the kid being athletic vs. lacking the intangibles or vice versa. That's not Tebow's problem: He has the athleticism and also the intangibles. His problem is presumably having to unlearn stuff picked up in Urban Meyer's spread offensive system. (b) the CW is that every base NFL offense has to put the QB under center. Where is it written in stone that the base-offense can't have the QB operating deep out of a spread/shotgun? If it works in college, why wouldn't it work in the pros? (I'm just sayin'...)

But all said - I feel the Cards can help their team more by passing over a QB at #26 and helping themselves at LT, Pass Rusher, ILB or CB.

Don't know where it may or may not be written, but unless you draft the second coming of Kurt Warner, you end up with Alex Smith.

Those ESPN guys are urinating in the Cheerios again. Man, they must be "biased" and they must be "Matty haters." In fact, not only are they reporting that they've heard the Cardinals are interested in Bulger and speculating that Bulger would knock Anderson off the roster and replace Leinart as the starting QB, they have another thread on the website now titled: "With the Cardinals' QB situation in flux, Larry Fitzgerald's fantasy stock is falling."

How dare they show such bias. Who do they think they are?

Haven't they understood that Whiz has declared Matty is "The Guy"?

Weren't they the ones to break the story two years ago, after Matty threw 3 ints versus the Raiders in pre-season that Warner would be named the starter?

How dare they mess with Matty again.

This satire is to point out to you Crazy Canuck that just because there are some on this board who don't share your optimism for Leinart, which is also shared nationally (obviously), that labeling posters who are being honest about their opinions "biased" is weak and uncalled for.

Really, going to hitch your wagon to that horse?

what you mean nationally kemosabe?? all provinces or all 57 states

I like snarky Mitch much better than take my ball and go home Mitch.

:raccoon:

I know this is a shot against CC, but remember that this article came from Florio; notorious Cardinals hater. This might as well been created by The Onion.

:yeahthat:

He might be somewhat content with picking up a check for clipboard duty, after the ass beatings he has endured the last few years.

PFT is the same site that ranked the top ILB in the draft and did not predict the Cardinals to take ANY of them, despite the fact that even helen keller knows that ILB is our biggest need going into the draft.

I've been thinking the same thing for a couple of weeks now.

I don't know. I don't think Bulger would come in as a #3.

I think I would prefer a low round rookie to learn the system that understands he is not the starter now.

But the Cards are a very attractive team for QB's right now with Fitz, Breaston and Doucett, Beanie Wells and Hightower and an improving O-line. But you have to beat the depth chart at QB.

If you are a QB and have confidence in your ability you should have no problem with signing with the Cards no matter Matt, Anderson, or whoever. Come with the idea you are going to win the job. That is basically what Warner did.

I will eat a hockey puck in Macy's window (formerly Marshall Fields here) if he does not sign with the Bears. No possible way Cards bring him in, unless Anderson slips on a banana peel and breaks his back....heaven forbid.

Well BSP already has a bad back (and he sucks), so why not bring in Bulger and if he beats out Anderson for NUMBER TWO we are better off than having BSP anywhere near our sideline...Whiz wants competition... bring it on!

I do prefer Bulger over Anderson & wished the rams would have released him earlier. I also believe that Matt Leinart will do an awesome job for the Cardinals. Just as long as the 49ers do not sign him, then things will be just fine for the the Cardinals in the NFC West.
