The -18 yards rushing by the Lions set a modern day NFL record. No defense has yielded so few yards on the ground since 1947. Isn't that the last time the Cards franchise won a championship? An omen of things to come? I can dream can't I?

Mike Martz told the Detriot media that the Cardinals were the best defense his team would encounter to date this season. The man knows what he's talking about.

They completely shut the Lion's ground attack, and despite the announce team prattling on about the Lions being unbalanced, their ground game did not have a chance in this game. Stuffing them on third and short, and fourth and short on the great Dansby play is proof positive of that.

Detroit radio was all over Martz's play calling by not even trying running in the second half.

Great point.

That's another differnce for this team vs. the past several years. Teams have to throw against us on third and two or less because we are an excellent short yardage defense.

I think Dansby coming back and Branch getting more playing time in place of Bailey made things look a lot different today concerning our Run D. Watson was kept more fresh throughout the whole game.

BigWatson rules. I can remember getting close to this type of defensive numbers against the run on Madden, but I don't know if I ever beat the performance today.
