This coaching staff isn't stupid and neither is the front office.

As numerous posters have stated, our OLBs are not getting the pass rushing push that's needed. Kicking the tires on one of the more decorated OLBs of the past decade is a good move. His knowledge on pass rushing techniques should help on the practice field and in the locker room.

Not sure I am on board with this but this is why the FO is paid to do so I trust them.

Can Joey Porter or Carnell Lake be far behind?

Per Jurecki, who also conveniently posted the play in the SB before halftime. :bang:

I doubt he has something left

Agree. 36-years-old. Maybe good for 10-15 snaps/game.

This doesn't make sense except for maybe BA wants to remind us just how close we were to winning the SuperBowl. I fully expect Santonio Holmes to be on this team soon, as well. :(

Could this mean a John Abraham suspension is looming?

I'll take a chance on him. We already have an older OLB than him and he has been playing at a high Level. Harrison played in a 4-3 defense last year which is not to his strength. He might just have a good year left, not great but good.

My Steeler's buddy is going to have a field day with this. I don't want to put up with his @^!$ so I hope this doesn't happen. He's got enough ammunition this year with Foote and Dwyer.

This could be about leadership.

He's a rah-rah in your face motivational leader. Who's our outspoken leader on defense?

Was probably dockett

Whisenhunt. Grimm. Haggens. Porter. Bryant. Gay. Faneca. Dwyer. Horton. Foote. Starks. Mendenhall. << this is ridiculous. And in sure I'm missing a few or 10 others we brought in from Pitt.

At least we gave them Levi..

Highly doubtful. If Abraham is able to move the court date to after the season, he'll be safe.

MJ indicated that BASK are concerned about not getting to the QB with only four rushers, which is why he's turning over every stone.

Would it hurt to see if he could give us anything? Only problem is, who's roster spot would he take?

But yeah, we seem to be the hospice for the steelers! ;)

Good to know.

Jurecki just alluded to it on twitter. Just because we bring in a vet for a workout does not mean an immediate signing. Remember vet contracts signed after week one are no longer guaranteed. They could be kicking the tires on vets like this just in case they need something after week 1. It is a strategy the Pats and a few other teams use every year.

Yes, he certainly seemed like a team player, leader, and teacher on Hard Knocks last season.

Yeah. This isn't a big deal at all. It's annoying that we're letting the Steelers from 10 years ago do our pro scouting for us, but we don't have any options, because we can't choose or develop our own OLBs.

That said, anyone who thinks that James Harrison adds anything as a leader or teacher should check out Hard Knocks from last season. Dude had his own desk in the back of the LB/DL room and didn't talk to anyone. He's more Adrian Wilson than Karlos Dansby.

Could be worse. We could be bringing in a lot of ex-Jets and ex-Redskins.
