Two year contract. Maybe this is what Graves meant when he said they will be doing things we don't like.

That settles it. I'm getting a team jersey with the # 1 on it and the name "WIDE RIGHT"

Odd move by the Cards. Rackers career FG% is 66%, which would rank him in the bottom 5 of current kickers. Their plan must be to use him for kickoffs, or maybe Billy G. is done.

C'mon guys, this is a GREAT signing. Along with Gilmore's extension, we'll definitely have the #1 pick again in next years draft Lol.

Seriously, what's the deal with extending these guys, especially after horrendous performances? Out of one side of his mouth, Graves proclaims we shouldn't sign vets short-term, then he turns around and extends guys that don't deserve it. What gives???

What's his

% of FGs made? How many of his kick offs are inside the five or in the end zone? I like Guillermo, however, before anyone rants about this being a bad move, the guy has done a pretty decent job no?

Last week, 1 out of 3 on FG, missed a 38 yarder and a 33 yarder. No, I wouldn't say that's a decent job.

Now, he does have a boot, and has done all right in previous weeks, but his rap in Cincy was lack of consistency.

Well, no bonus, so we can cut him. Can't really complain about that.

Why would you want a kicker who has a bad percentage and cant kick tochbacks?

Who cares how clutch he is? If he had a better overall percentage he wouldnt need to be clutch.

He sucks as a kicker plain and simple!

Hmm...like those FGs he missed last season against Dallas that would have given us the victory in regulation instead of going to overtime? Clutch? No.

Just like Rackers missed some FG's vs the 49ers.

The unfortunate thing

about a kicker is that they are always in the fish bowl! Make a dozen, people see them no big deal. When you miss, everyone remembers, because THAT one could have won the game. Oh well, let's just hope if he has the chance, he's straight and true this week.

Sometimes there's more to a story that meets the eye.

Quite possibly the brass is still irked at Guillermo for "the celebration/injury." Or maybe its a commonly held belief around Camp Cardinal that BG (who's contract may be nearing an end) may want out.

Or maybe they just like Rackers despite his inconsistency on short FG's. I mean he does boot kickoffs into the end zone.

So - Bill G... has some competition, and Rackers won't be signing with someone else prior to camp. Seems fairly astute to me. And. as said - if he doesn't work out he gets cut before the season opener at no real cost against the cap....

A. We have no idea whether he signed for a bonus or not. Chances are, there was a bonus. Why else do it before the last game? I'm sure the bonus was small, and part was absorbed this year.

B. So, we don't need to draft or sign a kicker this offseason. Now, something that should not've been taking much of our attention this offseason will take none of it. Personally, I feel we can always pick up a guy off the streets who can do what these guys have done.

I like Rackem's. I must be in a minority here. Yes he had a couple bad games. But so did the whole team. I guess you don't remember BG missing all those FG before getting injured. That is why we keep having to bring in Duncan. This is a good choice in my books.:stupid:

This guy has been missing short field goals. Yes he can kick it into the end zone but since 25% of all NFL games are won by 3 points or less we need someone who can consistently get it between the post. I truly do not understand this. Perhaps his missies were because of bad snaps, holds, etc???????????? YES THAT IS IT.

NFL average is 75% so if your guy is kicking 66% and 25% of all games are decided bu 3 points or less what does this translate into in lost games. Probably enough to keep you out of the playoffs.

Our new PM? Left to be seen. Given that I'm a Conservative Party supporter, I don't wish much luck...:D
