Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald's contract has been finalized - finally.

Fitzgerald agreed to terms on a four-year, $40 million deal on March 11, but NFL officials had questions about clauses in the contract and lawyers have worked to solve the problems. The deal was finalized Friday night.

It was important to the Cardinals to finish Fitzgerald's deal because it gives them almost $9 million more of cap space. Their next priority is to re-sign some key veterans.

I'm out of the loop here on this. What were the clauses? If he catches 100 balls next year he gets six billion dollars in 2009?

Well at least there are a couple of guys still available in FA that can help us.

Hopefully we can get guys like Darrion Scott, Clark Haggans (though he might have signed w/ CLE), Kendrell Bell, Fernando Bryant & Andre Dyson to come in for visits.

I was hoping for Bryant as well, but am pretty sure he signed with the Pats last week.

If we were any kind of smart, we'd make an immediate effort to sign Haggans and Law as quality veteran depth at positions of weakness. And we'd pay decently to do it because, well, we need it and we can afford it. I doubt we do it, but we should.

Ty Law still available? I'd much rather get a vet in here as a #2 or 3 CB than have a rookie and Adams. Get Law and draft one.

Cleveland signed Shantee Orr over Haggans. Not sure I like that sign when a 3-4 guy in Crennel would rather have Orr then Haggans. Pitt LB's dont generally translate very well in free agency and turn out to be bad on their second teams more times then not. Or Haggans could have been asking for to much money?

Looked at the list of free agents left and there is only 4 guys left that do anything for me more so then re-signing guys like Bailey. Those guys are Haggans, Darrion Scott, Kalimba Edwards, and Law (in a nickelback roll similar to the one that Rolle played last year or in what Fransisco is going to play this year)

Yup, and I'd add a vet OL, would have liked a younger guy but they have all been snatched up, but Fred Miller, Jason Fabini, Seth McKinney, Todd Steussie, or even Turley (love the fire). Going into TC with Wells and Gandy as unquestioned starters with very little depth is asking for trouble.
