Whisenhunt likes the fact that the Cardinals play all but one game on Sunday afternoon because it will allow them to be consistent in their approach from week to week. Beyond that, the schedule sets up well for Arizona.
They open with games vs. Carolina (which has a new coach and could be breaking in a rookie quarterback), at Washington (which has quarterback issues) and at Seattle (which has a new offensive coordinator, quarterback and No. 1 wideout). It's not inconceivable they could start 3-0 before facing the Giants at home and the Vikings on the road.
Perhaps more noteworthy is that four of the Cardinals' final five games are at home, including divisional games against San Francisco and Seattle. Add it all up and Arizona should be in the hunt for a third NFC West title in four years.
Easy start to the season on the road and home games to end the season.
This is certainly a good thing.
If they lose to either the Panthers or the Redskins, they are toast. End of season.
Yes, I agree. However, if Cards don't beat them I will be seriously disappointed. All the Cardinals need to think about right is playing Carolina---and if anyone thinks that game is a gimme---you've got another thing coming. Their defense is loaded with talent (big pass rush and outstanding LBers), they have 2 stud RBs, Smith/LaFell/Olsen as receivers, 2 All-Pros on the o-line in T Jordan Gross and C Ryan Kalil and a very good return man in Armanti Edwards. We've got to find a way to slow their pass rush so as to exploit their young secondary---we've got to stop the run---and we have to hope to force Clausen or Newton into mistakes. On paper they have more talent and balance of talent than we do...but like we do, they need to get good QB play.

How rude!!Okay, Jimmy Johnson.
Always feel it's silly to look ahead at the sked. All those who say we'll beat the Skins, should have seen them destroy the Steelers, last week. I know it's preseason, but they looked good. And EVERY team is much better at home, so while I'm hopeful, I'd never put an early away game in the win column. JMO.
John Beck. Rex Grossman. I don't care. They have to beat them. If not, 5-11 might not be possible.especially an early east coast game against an NFC eat opponent.

^This^Good to hear
But until his name is on the dotted line for 4-5 more...

with a solid D...when's the last time we won there? Has to be the days of Stallings/Ryan or Tobin. Hopefully our offense comes out rolling or IMO we lose 1 of the first 2.

1998. The game where the Cards were up 31-0 and finally won 45-42. Some things never change.
