Defender mads a great play knocking the ball away at least second.

Agreed, but Fitz or Floyd jump and grab that thing. Brown just waltz'd along waiting for it to land all perfectly. Attack it!

That's right 40. When you look at every play that torched us these last two weeks, we were trying to play man and blitz.

I believe this is deceptive. We sell out to stop the run. So the only progress we see is when they pass. Because teams are always passing. We don't give up a lot of points, minus the Denver game. Even then we may still be top 10 in points allowed.

We make teams one dimensional so they have to pass and the occasional pass play is therefore all we see.

Considering how much man we play and how often we make teams pass I think we've done exceptionally well.

You gentlemen can make all the excuses you want to. The object is to overcome the obstacle and considering how highly touted our secondary is, I don't believe they are playing up to their hype.

Regardless, a win is a win and we are now 4 and 1. I daresay few would have predicted the Cards to be in this position after 5 games and doing so considering how many starters have been lost. I think a lot of that is because of the coaches, but the players are ultimately the ones who have to play the game. We finally have a real football team in town and I'm proud as hell about that.

Seattle only has 2 losses.. it is only a one game lead over them and they have not played.. and San Fran has 2 losses as well and has not had a bye, so it will only be a half game lead over them if they beat the rams - but we do hold the tiebreaker over them.

Thanks gmabel-----You are so right. We have a full game lead over Seattle, and a game and a half over San Fran right now. That could go to two games if San Fran loses, or to one game if they win. Anyway we still are in a very good position at this point in the season schedule. I appreciate your correction.

You get my second game ball 40-----We really do have a wonderful football team in town, and I am right there with you being proud as hell about that!!!

BA is delivering on his promise that Cards will not cause Cards to lose, and that if the Cards learn to play sound situational football, they will be in position to win most games at the end. I love that this defensive secondary responded the way they did to Todd Bowles' half time tounge-lashing, and came away with 3 ints. and a fumble recovery in the second half. Most of all, I love that on this roster everyone plays for each other and for the betterment of the team, not for self gratification.

What is their hype??? A very good, young CB in Peterson. A 31 year CB coming off an injury in Cro. A journeyman slot CB in Powers. Rashad Johnson. A rehabbing Tyrann Mathieu (who is small of stature). An undrafted FA S in Tony Jefferson.

IMO, this team is playing better than the sum of all of their parts. Especially playing a man scheme on a defense which blitzes the most of any in the NFL.
