Great article... I really like Len... This part was so well said:

"So, have Boldin and Dockett outperformed their respective contract extensions? Probably so, given their dynamic performances and the comparable numbers of other players around the league, and the salaries of those players. Did anyone hold a gun to the head of either Dockett or Boldin and force them to sign the extensions in 2005 and 2006, respectively? Nope, they were thrilled to get them.
Particularly when they got them.

Boldin still had two years remaining on the original deal he signed as a rookie in 2003, and one of the things often emphasized in the deal was that it was believed to be the first extension ever for a player with two years left on his rookie contract. Dockett was in the third and final season of his rookie deal when he signed his five-year, $22.1 million extension. He still has three years remaining on the contract that resulted from that long-term extension."

I don't know about respect. It's an interesting article that helps eloquently put what a lot of this board has been thinking, but I'm still shocked by how much venom some of these writers hold for the Cardinals. They've been a crap franchise more often than not, but usually this level of dislike is held for a villain, not for an after-thought.
What I wouldn't give to have a better understanding of how the NFL works at all levels, not just from a fan's perspective.

So what would or could we trade for this time of year (post draft) Picks for 2010? A player or 3? "Pipe dream" is an understatement........

I liked the article, Dockett and Boldin need to just shutup and play. Our front office needs to make it a point to only entertain contract negotiations when players have a year left on their contract like a lot of well run franchises do. Yeah, it was nice of us to give Boldin an early extension but look where that has gotten us: Me me me, want want want. We all know you want and deserve more money, too bad you signed that extension you were oh so happy about a few years ago..

This franchise is finally headed in the right direction. This will save a lot of headaches down the road.

here is what is different about this article:

most leave the casual reader with the impression that perhaps Boldin and Dockett are still playing under rookie deals or are free agents --- rarely do they make point that both had deals redone not that long ago.

huh??

from article:
"Well, Boldin has two seasons left on the five-year, $22.67 million extension he signed in 2005. Dockett has three years remaining on a five-year extension, worth about $22 million, to which he agreed in 2006."

That is what football karma is saying, this article actually points it out.
