Nnamdi Asomugha linked to the Cardinals as a destination

A source tells ProFootballTalk.com that free agent Nnamdi Asomugha's potential destinations include the Texans, 49ers, Broncos and Cardinals.
Two years ago, Asomugha was the No. 1 free agent available and landed a $60 million deal with the Eagles. Now he's on the free agency tour once again, except with a fraction of the appeal. This report sounds like an agent trying to drum up interest for his client. He's certainly not a logical candidate in Houston, where Johnathan Joseph and Kareem Jackson are locked in as starting corners.

So what's his story? Is he still good? What exactly happened with his last team?

They made him play zone instead of what he is good at which is bump and run press coverage. Still an elite corner in the right system IMO

Apparently in the Eagles system he was terrible.

Makes you wonder if he was somewhat overrated in Oakland because the rest of the secondary was so bad nobody ever challenged Nnamdi.

Nnamdi was awesome with the Raiders, solid cover man but his tenure with the eagle was mediocre. I think he could still make for a decent #2 corner and if lucky maybe he can regain his form from the not so distant past in my opinion.

Like many in the past, he's probably using the Cards to try and build the market.

Would love Nnamdi, provided we don't use him in zone coverage. Why would any organization pay Nnamdi what they did and use him in zone? It's like placing a Mickey Mantle rookie card in the spokes of a bike TODAY.

It's funny though how some corners aren't very good in man, but some of the best man corners are average to suck in zone. Either way, if you pay a guy that kind of money, put him in the spot which is hard to fill, because zone coverage guys are a dime a dozen.

ah you fixed the title. yeah I couldn't see one guy play for 4 teams this year at the same time. Though if he did, he might finally live up to his hype.

Despite him not being what he once was......we need him more than the others.
