According to Jurecki:

Darnell Dockett's groin injury is getting worse.
Josh McCown's stiff neck not improving.
Karlos Dansby's neck injury is quite bad. LeVar Woods may start.
Emmitt Smith's ankle still bad.

Will get post practice update later.

Thankfully we've been playing our back ups frequently. Dockett and Dansby would be sorely missed but not devestatingly so. Hambrick instead of Smith would be a welcome change as far as I'm concerned.

McCown versus King.............I'm not going there.

Wendell Bryant better be ready.

I just have one question. If Emmit's ankle is bad enough that he can't play this weekend, shouldn't it have been bad enough to not be walking around Texas Stadium? Shouldn't he have been getting treatment?

You know for a fact that he didn't get treatment that day?

Please, let this non-issue die.

I wouldn't be surprised if Green is playing games with the injury list. We went from perfect health on Monday to four starters getting worse over the day off.

It was a valid question. Any player under contract to play for a team should do whatever it takes to be healthy and ready to do their job. That is what they get paid for, not to do interviews or take care of business on days off. You can take care of that crap when the season is over.

No one ever heard about an ankle problem until yesterday, but yet here Smith was walking around like he was fine Monday night. If he had an ankle problem on Monday, he should have been getting treatment and/or resting his ankle so he could practice and play on Wednesday.

That does sound the most probable. Good call aj.

And shouldn't he have been limping when he walked out the tunnel to his plane with ABC's cameras on him heading to the grassy knolll?

The whole thing is just weird to me, if not for 3 other starters being on the list I'd really believe Lex was right and Green was benching Emmitt. If true we probably WILL hear it because if he puts a healthy player on the injured list and the NFL hears about it, they will fine Green.

Emmitt: In a perfect world, he's good for 5-7 carries (all of which come on the GL). I'm hoping Hambrick make the oline look good when run blocking. I think Emmitt has made them look like they're struggling sometimes by not getting to the hole.

Dockett: No way to say this injury is a positive. It hurts. I hope Bryant is PO'd about his PT and comes ready to play.

Dansby: This one hurts, too. But, I think we should still be pretty solid at LB with Thompson starting in his place. I would hope Hayes gets the nod, too, making our starting LBs Thompson (if Dansby can't go), Hayes and Darling.

McCown: Maybe King will make the oline look better in the passing game just like Hambrick might make them look better in the run game. Maybe all of our debates will be put to an end if King starts--one way or the other.

I think he might have said something about it in the AM press conference, but I don't remember him indicating it was bad enough that Smith would not practice or possibly not play this weekend.

Maybe he was in Dallas because of his injury. It's safe to assume he would have his own personal dr. there he might want to get checked by.

I agree with Ron Wolfley on this one. He said recently that he would like to see Emmitt at 20+ carries per game.

Before Russ, before... There is no plot here.

I'm listening to Emmitt on Dan Patrick right now and 3 times already he's said he feels great. Patrick asked him about feeling his age after games and he said sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, today I feel great. Not ONE mention of a sore ankle.

But there's 2 1/2 minutes left in the interview so that may change.

that the Cards are playing up the aches and pains to make Carolina think we're worse off than reality?

Could be. The NFL fines for that now thanks to Shanahan constantly lying about injuries on lists and during games.

101/2 minutes without Emmitt once saying he had a bad ankle, Patrick wished him luck in Carolina and he said thanks, not well my ankle may keep me out.
