Only with the cowboys....

One year wonder who is made of glass and had two of the best WRs in football drawing coverage.

Made of glass is the one correct thing you've said on this thread.

What flashes? Even his healthy stats are damned mediocre. Not impressed.

So you have never actually seen the guy play then, your sole opinion is based on a stat sheet? Of which he showed lots of flashes just last year.

If we are going purely on stats for a guy to show flashes, what about 4 games last year when he took the place of an injured Austin, Detriot, Buffalo, Maimi, Arizona. Definitely flashes were shown as a #2 WR without.

Thanks to fantasy football, I had Laurent Robinson on my radar almost all year. He was playing pretty great, and was drawing the #1 corner most of the time since whenever Austin and Bryant were on the field, they were gimpy.

I support this idea... but we have to be careful about how much we pay him. Chaz Schillens of the Raiders was at the facility according to Kent Somers, but I'd rather not sign him. Chansi Stuckey part deux.

Oh I've seen him. But never stuck out in my mind. And like I said a one year wonder as of yet and not that impressed. If we get him cool. But based on his history and one semi decent year I certainly won't be thrilled.

That's a lot of games to pad your stats :)

Averaged 70.5 YPG with Austin out of the lineup and had 5 TD's in those 6 games. Try again. 858 yards and 11 TD's in 14 games in an offense where you are splitting targets with Miles (when he's healthy), Witten, and Dez is pretty damn impressive for a guy you'd be signing as a #2 WR.

There are a handful of guys just as good as him that can be had for half as much: Chad Schilens and Josh Morgan are just two examples. Dude is made of glass. Maybe if you can pay him Chansi Stuckey's deal, but he's not worth $4 million a year.

Morgan is reported to have received nearly $6 million a year from the Redskins.

i'd take a flier on Robinson at 4 mill per year. If somehow, this offense has Manning, Fitz, Robinson, Roberts and Bush, those are some serious weapons on offense to do some damage with. Throw in the fact that Manning probably won't airmail 40 yard wide open TDs down the seam to Housler and we could be scary.

ah, a man can dream, right?!

Robinson would be a really nice number 2 and Chaz a solid depth guy. Both players have pretty good speed if I recall correctly, which is what our team needs on offense.

My opinion on him is as follows. He was starting to blow up in Ramsville before a gruesome injury took him out. I was actually quite shocked the Rams got rid of him. I felt he was far and away their #1 receiver (but that year they had receiver corps that made our ~2001 version look like a bunch of All-Pro's). But they got rid of him anyways. I figured it was a bad sign due to the injury.

Then out of the blue last year he showed a lot of the same flashes he had pre-injury, but now with the Cowboys. Now I don't know if he's lost a step or whatnot because of the injury, but he showed to be a pretty heady WR (if memory serves correct it's his head that got him open on his big plays), and he obviously has the desire and guts to work himself back into the NFL.

I think he could of had a good (whatever that means) career without the injury. With the injury, and whatever is inside him, he's back on track. His 'stats' will never be what they might have been without an injury, but I think he's shown the NFL that he is back to being a very serviceable player who can make heady plays, and be a welcome addition to any receiving corps.

I have no clue what kind of numbers he would put up. But I think he'd be a good fit for us at #2 or #3.

As others have said though, it seems the supply of WR's is high though, so hopefully we don't spend too much. But any way you slice it, Laurent Robinson on the Cards would make our receiving corps stronger.

Maybe so, but I heard similar things to when we signed Chansi Stuckey last year. ;)

Call me stupid, but I want a more proven #2 weapon either thu the draft or FA

Robinson had 11 TDs and a 15.9 ypc last year. How can any draft pick be more "proven" than that?

Been many WRs who have had one good year and then like dust in the wind are gone. Wouldn't call that proven. But I do get what your saying.

Thank you

I would rather see the Cards draft a guy like Chris Givens or BJ Cunningham in rds 3-4-5

if your dreaming, can u add an OT or two?

Bush would be a nice upgrade. I don't know Robinson well, but he seems to have speed and We need that.

Dunno but there's a boat load of incoming newbies - all sizes, shapes and speeds - available in the draft.

Personally I like Schilens.

I think if the Cardinals can get him with a solid #2 contract he would be a big help to this team.

I believe Fitzgerald as a #1, and Roberts as a #3 is pretty good, and if you add another big body, like Schilens, then you have good balance at the line.

Not to mention the bonus that Schilens has some serious speed.

However, he left town without signing. He is going to visit the Jets and (I think) the 49ers. Chances are one will give him a good offer.

With the cost of FA WR being so high there is better value focusing on OL in FA and WR in the draft. With the #13 pick the Cards should be targeting Floyd. Give me Fitz, Floyd, Schilen, Roberts and Sampson.
