had the opportunity to lower his shoulder and head due north to pick up a crucial 1st down, but instead elected to go horizontal, got nailed for a loss and the game went south after that.

Sounds like something Arrington will do! Wait, he already did something like that...

I just checked his stats for this week.
In the fourth quarter he has 123 yds on 21 carries.
They will show the game tonight on the NFL Network.

Over 100 yrd again.... Galaxy wins

Smoking the other RB's in Europe in rushing. Leads in rushing yrds, all-purpose yrds and yards from scrimage and hasn't returned a punt or kickoff. I'd like to see him return some punts and kicks, but I think the Galaxy coaching staff doesn't want to take the risk on getting him hurt. He has TD's of 28, 34 and 66 yards.

Roger Robinson Grade: 2.87
Position: HB
Class:
School: N. Arizona
Conference: Big Sky
Ht., Wt.: 5-9, 191
40 Time: 4.46
Grading System

BIO: Two-year starter and All-Conference selection who led the team in rushing as a senior, posting 189/907/7 as well as receiving with 46/356/1. Junior totals included 276/1,108/7 on the ground and 23/216/1 as a pass catcher.

POSITIVES: Compact and quick-footed ball handler with a variety of skills. Runs low to the ground, displays good vision as well as the speed to get around the corner. Immediately finds the running lanes, cuts back against the grain and makes defenders miss. Possesses a quick stutter step and squirts through the small openings of the defense. Tenacious and works runs. Solid pass catcher who makes the reception away from his frame. Helps the quarterback sell ball fakes. Attacks blocking assignments.

NEGATIVES: More of a safety valve as a pass catcher rather than a true receiving threat. At times does too much east/west running rather than taking it up the field. Does not show the ability to break tackles or pick up yardage off initial contact.

ANALYSIS: A tough and competitive ballcarrier, Robinson has potential as a third-down back at the next level. Used as a return specialist early in his college career, a skill he needs to once again display next summer to have any shot of making a final roster.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent

I remember watching him at the scrimmage in Prescott last year and thinking to myself then that he had skills.
I wouldn'e be surprised to see him make the team.

Neither would I. But if he does its going to be as a special teams guru. Not a RB IMO.

Unfortunately, I think Marcel is gone simply because of his contract.
The numbers game catches up with him.

I dunno. The Cards have shown in the past that really dont cut people just based on money. Especially if they have nobody they need to sign in FA. So if he can do well in ST he can still make the team.

If the Cards were going to cut him based on salary, then I don't think they would include him in offseason activities. I think Green really liked his effort last season and attributes more of the blame to the poor blocking. Just my opinion though.

Agianst the best defense in the league.

Frankfurt beat Rhein today as the rabbit ran for 144 yds on 20 attempts. Roger's longest was 28 yds and Frankfurt had 0 fumbles.

I hope he supplants Anderson and can be a returner. We need someone with his speed back there.

I'll be surprised if Marcel is cut. I think DG likes his toughness. He'll come off the bench & give Edge a rest & he'll VERY productive in that role. JJ had better show SOMETHING early on or he'll be riding the pines this year. Edge, Marcel & JJ could be quite a 3 headed monster should the O-line improve. If the O-line improves dramatically, our O will be awesome. Perhaps even better than the 70's teams under Coryell. I hate to sound to optimistic, because this team has broken my heart SO MANY times, but an awful lot of bad things have to happen for this offense to not be a powerhouse. We now have depth throughout on offense & even a few injuries to key players shouldn't completely derail our hopes. My fears are more on the defense now.

I think both offense and defense can be very strong this year. It's the speacial teams that concern me. The first upgrade was just getting Reggie Swinton out of town.

Before we consider cutting anybody - here's a very subjective down and dirty look at our roster under the assumption that all current 22 position starters were injured:

QB - Leinart, Navarre
RB - Shipp, Robinson
FB - Femi
WR - Johnson, McCoy, (Holliday, Walters, Watkins, Lee, Bilbo, Spurlock)
TE - Pope (Edwards)
LT - Ellington (Cantu)
LG - E Brown
C - Leckey (Lynch)
RG - Lutui (Bridges)
RT - Wakefield

LDE - K King (T King)
UT - J Lewis
NT - Watson (Bulman, Moore)
RDE - A Smith (Paleploi)
SLB - Pace (Keys)
MLB - Darling (Mitchell)
WLB - Blackstock (B Johnson)
RCB - Tate (Hunter)
LCB - E Green (Reid, Wyatt)
SS - Shazor (Harrell)
FS - Brewer (Francisco)

(Note - Assumes that a few up & comers like Pope and Lutui don't win starting jobs - yet).

Bound to happen - several of these guys will see lots of starting duty. Don't cut your boobies before they are hatched.

We tend to somehow forget just how critical special teams are. With the exception of our OL & not including Rackers, our Special Teams were our demise last year. I'd be willing to say that NO team has ever reached the pinnacle with poor Special Teams play. DG is quite aware of that & quite a few of our offseason moves were made to bolster special teams. Depth in our secondary is what scares me most!!!!
