If we did sign him we would at least still have all our draft picks. Drafting a WR and a Guard in the first two rounds would help him. We sure couldn’t afford to sign anyone else but him.

I'm not sure he is worth the price, but who is? I think comparable talent is available at about 1/2 the price in Bradford, Teddy and Foles - but he is better than the NONE we got now.

Ok, I will say it now. Bradford if he could stay healthy is just as good a Cousins. Cousins is like Stanton's talented younger brother who also played at Michigan St.. I have taken the outlook of sign Bradford for a player's true worth and have the stud rookie ready to go midway when Bradford gets hurt, go Cardinals :newcards:

hell they all can get hurt anytime but Bradford is not a bridge - He is a proven franchise QB for years. He is due a good run and well worth a shot - He, bridgewater, cousins and foles I don't see any of these rookies taken starts from anytime they are playing. This is a blessed year to need 2 QB's! my hopes are high- all have flaws - gotta go for it

I'm not fully on board with Cousins on a 3 year deal, but it could allow for something like:

Draft impact players in 1st and 2nd, this year...followed by a QB like Laulette in the 3rd...and use rest of draft to fill holes and add depth. Laulette could be allowed to develop behind Kurt and the a decision would be in the works for 3rd year...either extend Cousins, because of his play, or move on, because of his play. Cards could work 3 years of guaranteed money like $20 million in year 1, $50 million in year 2 and $20 Million in year 3. Or $20 million in year one and split the difference evenly in years 2 and 3.

Thats actually a semi solid plan... dont buy him, just rent him...all while using him to train a second tier QB to be a starter...
flips on your head though if the kid aint ready to take over in three years...and meanwhile you have already set the market

How many times have the Cards been a “finalist” for a Star QB?

Okay, I'll be the guy to say it then... this would be cool. Not amped about only a 3 year deal, but I'm sure the Cardinals are smart enough to work around that.

I think the Broncos and the Vikings have the best chance, but I hope we go all in on this.
Your nuts. They'll be cash strapped and be unable to sign any other good players.

We would have to cut players just to sign him and would still have a ton of holes left to fill with zero cap space. All for a guy who hasn't taken his team to the playoffs.

I say there is no way we sign him.
