From Great Blue North Draft site

As a result of their loss to Dallas in today’s NFC wild card game, Detroit will have the 23rd pick at the 2015 draft, while Arizona, which lost to Carolina yesterday, will select 24th. Earlier in the day today, Cincinnati wrapped up the 21st pick as a result of a loss in Indianapolis, while Pittsburgh will select 22nd after a loss to Baltimore

After this season, the NFL should institute a "goodwill" 1st Rd pick for the team that suffers the most injuries :D

You know, sorta like a compensatory pick as a way of saying, sorry for all the crappy luck you had this year.

First 3 rounds we pick 24, 55, and 86.

We will also without a doubt be getting at least one comp pick. We lost one more qualifying free agent then we gained.

That would surprise me as it seems that Keim is always signing free agents.

Yes, he is, but not all free agents are qualifying free agents for the comp pick formula. For example if a guy is a free agent because he was cut, he is not a qualifying free agent.

Good point, I think CB Antonio Cromartie was cut by the Jets.

Carlson was a salary cut by Vikings
Ginn a FA signing?
T.Kelly was a salary cut from Raiders?
Veldheer was a cap cut by Raiders?
Dwyer was a FA signing.
Rucker a FA signing?
Cromartie was a cap cut by Jets
Foote FA signing or Steelers cap cut?

Andre Roberts signed big deal with Redskins
Jim Dray signed with Browns
Dwyer cap cut or FA signing ?
So Veldheer and Dansby equal each other
Roberts-Ginn might cancel each other out
So rthat leaves Drays contract...............I would be surprised if Cards get anything other than a 7th round copmp pick.Since nobody knows how the NFl figures out who gets what except for the Patriots,Cowboys and Steelers all get comp picks every year

I don`t know.I think part of it has to do with the contract.I would think maybe playing time might factor in.But then what happens if someone signs a high dollar FA and the FA gets a season ending injury? How does that factor? I guess that's why the NFl won`t reveal how they decide the comp picks.Joeshno probably knows more about the comp picks here.

I'm guessing we get a 7th round comp pick. As you said we lost one more than we signed.
Eight total draft picks as of now, with a lot of needs to fill: 2 inside linebackers with speed and toughness, a pass rusher who can win one-on-one battles, a guard, a tackle, a punt returner, a free safety with speed who can tackle, a power running back......

Rucker was our own player we just re-signed.

We also lost Cason to the Panthers, Arenas to the Falcons & Dray to the Browns.

Qualifying free agents signed
Jared Veldheer
Jonathan Dwyer
Ted Larson
Ted Gin

Qualifying free agents lost
Javier Arenas
Antoine Cason
Karlos Dansby
Jim Dray
Andre Roberts

Veldheer and Dansby cancel out.

Dwyer and Cason probably cancel out as well since both were cut before the season was over.

So that leaves Larson/Ginn vs. Arenas,Dray, and Roberts.

Formula primarily based on salary, starts, and accolades(pro bowl....). Dray got 8 starts and a ton of snaps, and Roberts got a decent contract with a ton of snaps, so we might get higher pick then people realize. but any pick is just gravy. The teams that build more through the draft tend to get the most comp picks because they let more players leave then they sign, just restock the cupboards with good drafting and re-signings, which is why Green Bay and the Ravens have received the most compensatory picks since they started giving them out. Just so happens to be two of the best drafting teams for a while now.

I thought Larsen was a salary cap cut from Tampa Bay.

We have a lot of needs, but I see some mocks have us taking OT T.J. Clemmings out of Pitt. I think we need an upgrade over Massie .
