Sounds good to me as it addresses two areas of concern.

I wonder what we could get for Arrington in a trade?

Does he return punts too?

Not a bad signing at all. Depth in the secondary is a very good thing.

Good signing for CB depth/starter ... we need experienced players for our defensive backfield ..

Wonder what kind of bonus we gave him and how much $$$ we have left to sign another body ... ???

We don't have too many CBs. Tate and Macklin are free agents and the Cards have signed hood.

The rotation right now would include Rolle, Green, Hood, and Matt Ware.

That's pretty cool! He was #1 on my wish list out of the guys we targeted.

 Cool!

Not bad FA based on the quality of players available and everyone going crazy spending. Had we signed Kelly, and we did offer him good money it seems too bad he chose old team over money, this would have been a good FA!

Awesome!

Just what the doctor ordered (for the Cardinals mild cough). Now we need to fill the prescription for OLB and LT (for the Cardinals' case of malaria and scurvy).

If we can nab a CB in the second or third round AND re-sign Macklin, I'd feel like we had an adequate defensive backfield.

If Rolle steps up and Green continues to progress, it could be very good. If they remain where they are in their development, it's still okay, but will remain an area of concern in the next offseason.

We were all getting nervous for a while there. Now it looks as if the Cards are getting a decent FA crop together. Three major positions have been addressed, and they have been addressed with people we went after. Glad we got Hood rather than Fisher. Gandy seems to be the only other possibility. As long as we get him for a decent cost, it may be OK. But, if we do not get him, it wouldn't bother me. I do not think he's the answer for LT.

He has a pretty good scouting report....

>Hood has a good combination of athletic ability and speed. He has good overall cover skills and is very smooth in all his movements. He has good feet, is fluid in his hips and can turn and run with most receivers in the league. He has good change-of-direction skills. He does not have a lot of wasted motion, nor does he lose speed in transition, and he has a good burst to the ball. He has the closing speed to make up for being out of position or making mistakes. He has good man-to-man cover skills, and he does a great job of planting and driving to the ball. He did an excellent job in press coverage. He was in the receiver's hip pocket and did a great job of mirroring his route. He is not a real physical player, but he is very competitive. He will go after the ball and will challenge the receiver. He does a good job in run support, is not afraid to mix it up and is a decent open-field tackler. He will wrap up on contact, but he is not going to punish receivers or running backs. He is an excellent special teams player. He does a super job on cover teams and as a kickoff return specialist. Overall, Hood does not have a lot of weaknesses. He is young and should only get better with more playing time.<

Gandy would be a good finish to FA. The OL, DB-S, and CB would be strenghthened.
