lol
Ha! Nice.Maybe Prater will provide a strong veteran presence for all of our coaches who are younger than him. That's all I got.
youre right. Which is why it makes no sense making it a priority to sign one on the second day of FA, to a two year deal with a mediocre/injury prone old man.We are rebuilding. Kicker is far from a high priority if you ask me.
It's really just a year...lolPrater has no ego. Let’s give him 2 years.
UDFAYou want to draft one?
Personally I would rather use picks on other positions.
Oh sweet… just gonna keep going with the ancient kicker who’s been mediocre /injured for three seasons and give him 2 years while we’re at it.
Dope.
Maybe they could have used that 3.25 and made up the gap between the 13mil for Allen and the 15mil he signed for.
Loser franchise.
Can Allen kick too? Brit beat me to it. Ha!Maybe they could have used that 3.25 and made up the gap between the 13mil for Allen and the 15mil he signed for.

Nothing about his contract says they can't bring in competition.Prater was great 5 years ago but at his age he's not reliable both injury wise and he has that built in movement on his kicks that seems to have gotten worse with age.
I would have moved on.
Agree he's a good kicker when healthy. The problem is he's 39 and will only become more injury prone moving forward. If we are in rebuild mode, I would have rather saved the money and signed a rookie FA or someone on the cheap.Prater hit at an 88% clip when he was healthy. If he can stay healthy he is a solid kicker. I really thought he would retire after last season.

Not at all. Would have spent the money on a higher priority positional need.Pennywise and pound foolish, as the Brits say.
You get what you pay for, as was proven last season when Prater was out.
Rebuild doesn't mean we're deliberately in the losing mode.

We got what we paid for with Prater also… mediocrity and injury prone. Yay!Pennywise and pound foolish, as the Brits say.

Lol.What total rebuild doesn't need a 39-year-old kicker and a 29-year-old running back?
He's not injury prone but Zach Allen is, lol.We got what we paid for with Prater also… mediocrity and injury prone. Yay!

So is it about guaranteed money or total contract? With Allen, you said he's getting his 45 mill. With Prater, it's easily moved on after 1 year.#Cardinals signing K Matt Prater to a two-year, $7.5M deal with $4M guaranteed
I believe this is what he was paid before. Can easily be a one year deal.
