We are in need of a big play and the situation warrants it on every single down our defense plays.

We won't be a feared stadium until it is just as loud on first down on the 20 in the middle of the first quarter as it is on 4th down and 1 on the goalline with 1 second left in the fourth quarter.

Loud from start to finish for this defense...

I agree with you, but I can see why people would be upset with constant standing. It's all about respect. There is no right or wrong answer. You have to feel out the people around you.

I sit down during timeouts or play reviews though. Gotta get rest.

What?
heh - it's a reflex - what's sad/funny is my dog sometimes think she's doing something wrong because she's the only other living thing on the room

try to keep it under control for this reason - but really not that easy to do

Ha! No kidding! I've had the dog run out of the room then peek around the corner like "WTF was that!?"

I still don't get it, there's only like 15 minutes of action so why do people need to stand up for 3 hours. And half that 15 minutes we have the ball so you're supposed to be quiet until Q runs over 5-6 people.

DJ, don't you sit in the Club section? If so, then you don't have a dog in this hunt, 'cause no one stands up in there anyway.

Except of course, to order another white wine spritzer. :D

Yes, I couldn't believe the silence during the third quarter. That's when we needed even more noise.

Cardinal fans should be aware of other Cardinal fans.
Enemy fans shouldn't even be there.

Excellent point Andy.

I'm in quite the agreeable mood in this thread. :D

I call it the third quarter lull. People returning late from the concessions...haven't been up for the whole halftime...trying to get minds back in the game.

It is ALWAYS quiet and soft in the third. We fans are coming out of the half as bad as the Cards did against San Fran!!!!

Coupled with the fact that this is typically when the opposing team/coaches have outcoached us and made proper adjustments, it's all the more frustrating...
And it wasn't just the San Fran game that the Cards struggled in the 3rd quarter... You can probably go back over the last 2-3 years worth of home games (road games as well)... And of course, this past Sunday as well where the Hawks scored 10 points on us in a blink...

Yeah, but the SF game was basically one of the worst things I've ever seen. I've never seen that many penalties stacked, and by guys like Q!

next game

We talked to them last game.. they also sent us a reply to our letter from Michael Bidwill's office.. basically, the run down is, the policy is only stand for the good parts... and please don't make them throw us out.

Last game was much better as the Seahawks fans were all standing behind us.. so there was no real reason for us to sit. Of course you were in Vegas at the time. :p

Here is the deal with this. It is actually against stadium policy to stand. The hitch is that "excessive standing" is not allowed. I usually tell them that I will try to sit down but Michael B. has told me to stand. One of the guys in my section (132) asked, very politely, to speak to the supervisor. This seemed to work also.

I just try to get everyone in my section to stand at every opportunity. If everyone is doing it there is nothing they can do. I am going to ask you not to sit down. This is NFL football. I believe you, like me, sit in the lower section of the red zone. There is going to be standing and yelling. One should expect that. If you don't want to stand you should have gotten a front row seat....or watch on tv.

:soapbox: that is all

My wife and I got two tickets to the Browns game in early December...Ring of Honor...second row aisle. Nice, in that there will not be anyone behind us...we can stand all we want without problem (I would think, anyway). There is a wall behind these seats (Coincidently, I took a pic of the section a year ago last August when we were there for the Steelers preseason game).

On a side note, we are going to be staying at the new Renaissance hotel in Westgate...just going to walk over to the stadium for the game.

I try to be courteous to the fans behind me but a few guys in front of me stand a lot. I don't mind (my wife's view is obscured if she stays seated) but if anyone tells me to sit down I'll just tell them to tell the two guys in front of me to sit down first.

Standing during the game

I think the only time when you should stand is when your team scores or makes a great defensive play and that is when you high five all your buds....other than that sit the heck down and let others enjoy the game :hammer:

Plus I'd probably yell at them. :D

That's fine for the upper deck or club level seating, but in the endzones, you should be standing, leaning as close to the field as possible and screaming your eyes out every defensive play.

I sit in the Club section, and I still refuse to sit when the defense is on the field. Sometimes, our fans are too nice. We need to make our defense know that we're behind them. In any winning stadium in the nation, silence would not be tolerated. For that reason, I'll do whatever it takes to pump up the fans in my section who are willing to pay $110 per game. I rarely get complaints, but when I do, it's from fans of other teams. Quite simply, they shouldn't be there in the first place. I'll admit, from time to time, I've gone a bit overboard, but mostly I am respectable and appropriate, but loud enough to offend the opponent.

You should be standing the minute the D hits the field. Stand up before someone stands up in front of you. Get rowdy...I know country ladies can get rowdy. The endzone is a frenzied, energized, no-holds-barred type of environment. You won't have a good time sitting on your hands down there...

The only thing I didn't like was that the concession stands behind the north end zone ran out of hot dogs and most other food by the early 3rd quarter.

Great planning.
