We'd hate to see a legend go, but it would be in the best interest of the D-backs future.

Goldy could come back after he retires, if he chooses, as have RJ and Gonzo.

Greinke is not a D-backs legend, but he was our ace. But not this past season.

The D-backs need to rebuild and get the most they can in return, while there is still value there.

Per MLB Network's Jon Morosi, the Twins had "preliminary talks" with the Arizona Diamondbacks about Goldschmidt, but those discussions have stalled in the past few days.
