We're not going to find any studs right now, not any free agents who are gonna turn this ship around.
The whole time people are saying we should be signing people, and when we take a look at some many say that they aren't good enough. Be happy the team is looking at people.

I
said it was "nice to see some activity on the personnel front." And the Cards can clearly use some more players to line up at WR. But I'm not certain these guys are gonna address the shortcomings of the current receiving corps.
As a long-time follower of the Dolphins, I'm very familiar with what Oronde Gadsden can and can't do. When he's healthy, he's a big, strong possession type with barely adequate speed. He's been pretty effective for the Fins on third downs and in the red zone. But he's coming off injuries, both last year and in the preseason, and the only NFL team Gadsden's ever played for decided he's not worth keeping for the veteran minimum. I'm not sure the Cards really need another slow guy with good hands, particularly if there are questions about his health.
I don't know nearly as much about Isaac Byrd, but he got extended looks at both Tennessee and Carolina and was let go. Neither of those teams is so loaded at WR that a good player couldn't grab a roster spot.
At least Khalil Hill can run, and might be able to substitute for the injured Cards deep threats like Gilmore and McAddley. But he didn't last one training camp with the team that drafted him, and couldn't get off the practice squad in New Orleans. Makes me wonder how much potential he can have.
I mean, if all that's left out there is practice squadders and marginal veterans, maybe the Cards should call up Jake Soliday, Reggie Newhouse, and/ or Antwone Savage. At least those guys already know the playbook.
