Per nfl.com..the Cards were one of 7 teams that put in a claim for Alleman (Saints). He was awarded to the Dolphins, becuase they have the worst record of the tams that claimed him.

Perhaps now we know why C Pat Ross was released.

The 49ers claimed LB Ahmad Brooks from Cincinnati.

The reports says that 32 players were claimed and that the awardings are not starting to trickle in.

Just remember that the teams who picked these guys up also had to cut a corresponding player - often at the same position.

The dominos will continue to fall.

PS Had we been able to claim Alleman, I wonder whom we'd have cut.

Yeah, this means 32 more players will be waived.

Perhaps the most significant thing about this one was the company we were in.... Dolphins (the Tuna), Patriots, Colts, Denver, the Jets, and KC. Not that Den, KC, and the Jets are power brokers, but the first three are known to go after quality players. I take that as a good omen.

Standard SOP within NFL fandom is to observe that: "The new guy he good/the guy who left - he suck."

I just want to put in a good word for Pat Ross.

First - when you rewatch tape of Arrington's long run, the one downfield blocker (besides Breaston) who leaps out at you is #70.

Second - Despite getting his bell rung Friday against Denver, he came back in and - if Wolfley's comments were accurate - continued to play the remainder of the game despite 95% of his brain still remaining in la-la land. (Say what you want, he sure was a gamer).

Coaches often have reasons we fans aren't aware of for cutting players. Maybe that's the case here; but I wouldn't be upset if Pat somehow found his way back onto our roster.

Great point, Jeff. I agree.
