Cardinals 24-10.

Stanton has his best game as a pro, Peterson runs for another 100 yards.

This is all to give us hope and then rip it away again as we get absolutely crushed on Thursday night.

Dude, anyone who gets even a slimmer Of hope from beating a winless team gets exactly what they deserve against the Hawks... ridicule and pain!

This 49ers team is terrible and they idiotically cut Bowman too. Stanton will look better than he is in this game and then come tumbling back to earth against the Seahawks. All we can hope for is late in the Seahawks game, Gabbert replaces him, and we see this:

Cards 20
49ers 13

I don’t like Drew Statton but ...

My crystal ball says:

49ers 5
Cards 2

Phil Dawson misses a potential game-winning 24-yard FG wide right as the gun sounds, after a high snap is bobbled by Drew Statton. Cardinals lead 2-zip for 3-plus quarters after CJ Beathard slips on the awesome Santa Clara turf and falls backwards into his own end zone. Robert Nkemdiche taps him while down for the 2-pointer. But the Cards fold in the 4th quarter as the 49ers run up 5 consecutive unanswered points, after Drew Statton misses with a lateral attempt to Adrian Peterson, which rolls out through the back of the end zone for a safety, and 49ers kicker Robbie Gould drills a 34-yarder right down broadway early in the 4th, for the 5-2 lead that would hold up for the Niner victory.

Oh, and Adrian Peterson rushes 18 times for 15 yards, catches 1 pass for 4 yards (on 3rd & 7), and leaves the game in the 4th with a busted crank.

No predictions, just hope that SF doesn't walk away with this game, that would be embarrassing.

Remember 2004. The 49ers went 2-14. Both of their wins came against us.
That was sick. Was living in N. Cal. then and thought I was going to go insane after the end of the second of those games. Two losses to an essentially winless team....

Oh yeah, my prediction? Hope I’m wrong, but the Niners get their first W of the season today.

Both were in OT IIRC and by the same 31-28 score. And we lost to Hall of Famer QB's Ken Dorsey and Tim Rattay.

Didn't the Cards blow a 16 point lead with six minutes to go or something? If they're doomed to lose today let it be obvious from the start.

I expect Peterson to have a good game. I just think it won’t be enough. Niners 24-19

Yep. 28-12 and they let Rattay march right down field, twice and march right down field in OT. We never touched the ball in OT. The 2nd game, WE came back then let it slip on OT.
