How do we match up against the Packers? How is their run defense? How do folks feel about this game?

Statistically both pass defenses are about equal, but the Cards are clearly the better run defense. On offense each team runs the ball to about the same effect, but the Cardinals are decidedly more effective throwing the ball than GB. This being in AZ makes me feel pretty darn confident that the Cards come away victorious and it may be a little more comfortable of a win than many believe.

Was listening to radio this morning and I can tell you Packer fans are not confident. Radio personalities refuse to talk bout the cards game and just want to hash over the game yesterday...:D

Their run defense has been abysmal. Yesterday Latavius Murray was running well but for some bizarre reason they kept going to the air with Carr.

The previous week, the Cowboys ran all over them with McFadden.

Despite their strong record right now it's apparent to all the midwestern Packer fans here that this team is not as good as they have been the last few years. They have not beaten a single good team this year except for Minnesota.

It will probably end up like the 51-45 game in January 2010.

gotta control the clock and keep Rodgers off the field. We should win and wrap up the 2 seed... then rest every damn important player on the team against Seattle.

The potential playoff teams the Packers beat are the Vikings, Seahawks, and Chiefs. The potential playoff teams the Cardinals beat are the Vikings, Seahawks, and Bengals. I think the Cardinals are a little better and more balanced than the Packers, but I do not think there is a huge difference between the teams.

The Packer offense has not been nearly as good as recent years. Everyone talks about losing Jordy, but they also lost TE Jermichael Finley to a career ending injury a couple years ago while he was in his prime. But their defense and special teams are actually better than last year when you look at the points per game they give up. They are weaker on offense, but their defense and special teams are better. Their defense is in the top 5 in points given up even though they do not look very dominating. Whether that is good enough to put them in the same class with the Cardinals and Carolina in the playoffs remains to be seen.

TBF they beat both Seattle and KC when they were playing pretty poorly early in the year and the Pack have also not been playing as well as they were to start the season.

True, but on the flip side the same can be said about the Seahawks when the Cardinals beat them, and the Packers crushed the Vikings on the road a couple of weeks ago while the Cardinals squeaked by the Vikings at home.

Part of me thinks the Cardinals will crush the Packers because the Packers will be worn out from 2 long west coast road trips in a row. Another part of me thinks the 50/50 crowd will energize the Packers and they will find a way to win in a close game by making less turnovers. I just hope it is a good game where everyone comes out healthy as the playoffs is when it really matters despite the implications of a 2 seed this week.

They've also lost to the Panthers and Broncos while the only playoff caliber team the Cards lost to are the Stealers. And I guess you can count the Eagles as a potential playoff team as they aren't out of it yet, as bad as that division is.

The Pack D is going to have a rough time controlling the Cards O. Only thing in this game I am worried about is our D giving up the huge chunk plays to Rodgers. He is the QB that will take advantage of the field position, unlike the past few teams the Cards played

Exactly.

Gotta win this game and make that last game against the chickens completely irrelevant. Then sit EVERYONE. lol I dont care if the waterboy is active for that game.

Has nothing to do with fear or anything else. I have zero interest in getting into a slugfest with our biggest rival in what should be a meaningless game in week 17.

Then the starters essentially have 3 weeks to get healthy and gameplan for whomever we will face in the divisional round.

With that line of thinking the packers lost to a Detroit team once, needed a miracle the second time and we crushed them 47-7. You beat the bears and lost to the bears a team we beat 48-23. So what does all that mean....absolutely mothing.

I don't know. I like having the bye to give everyone an extra week to rest up and heal. But if we rest the majority of the starters against Seattle, the starters would go 3 weeks without playing a game. I don't have the stats, but I don't think teams have fared well doing this.

But then again, I certainly don't want key players getting hurt in a meaningless game against Seattle.

I guess, we'll just beat Green Bay first and then let Arians decide. He seems to have the knack for making the correct decisions.

I don't care about how other QBs are playing--A-Rodg is still the best in the NFL, and it frightens me that we go up against him the week we lose Badger. I'm not sure I'm picking AZ to win this game.

Hasn't been playing like it, but I guess you can equate that to the Jordy-less WRs not getting separation.

After starting out 6-0 the Pack are pretty much average. They lost to the Bears and literally needed a miracle to beat the Lions. The Raiders also had a lead on them.

If the no fly zone working and the O can pound the ball, the Cards should win this.

What's interesting for both teams is that their last two games are against probable playoff opponents. Green Bay could realistically being playing Minnesota in back to back weeks with the Cardinals bookending those.
