Just as little known underdog George Mason has shocked a few powerhouses in the NCAA tournament over the last couple of weeks I believe the sports karma Gods are looking after me and our Cards will enjoy similar success. I assume I am the only Alumni of GMU on the board so I am happy to share my blind optimism with you all.

reddog - congrats on the advancing ... definitely exciting stuff

i'm a drexel alum, so usually no love for a colonial foe, but seeing them advance has been great ... go CAA! (old dominion is also in the NIT semis)

i was pumped when drexel had a chance in the preseason NIT against duke and UCLA

I can't imagine the feeling of knocking off a couple of the big boys when it counts

hope they shock the world (not so much for the cards though ;) )

This is Cardinals year! The bigger, better, stronger Cardinal is on his way to a stadium close to you. Don't miss the thrills, chills and the hard hitting of you Arizona cardinals. This show is X rated.

Probably the Mason who surveyed the Mason - Dixon line around 1750 at the direction of the King of England. That line seperated Maryland from Pennsylvania so that is sort of in the area of Virginia. I just found out it was in Fairfax and had an enrollment of 28,000. Maybe he invented the Mason Jars (if you are old enough to remember them). Maybe he was a 5th Degree Mason or the Grand PoPah. Clearly I do not know.

They showed Mason's coach giving a history lesson saying who George Mason was, and now I know.

I've watched George Mason agianst UNC and UCONN. I'm still waiting for them to miss a shot in the second half of a game.I've never seen anything like it. THey scored on almost every possession.

Iirc, he was a founding father, i.e. - signer of the Declaration of Independence, member of First Continental Congress.

Now I am going googling...

George Mason wrote The Bill of Rights.

He didn't sign the Declaration of Independence because it said "All men are created equal" and we still had slavery.

We played their high school (right next to the college) in soccer 1-2 times a year and they are damn good. They won Single A state almost every year. Also, their high school has such an excellent foreign exchange program and their field has all these Hummer signs around it, probably are endorsed by Hummer. Weird huh?

Here's some more Kool Aid.

The last and only time the Cardinals have gone past one game in the NFL postseason they had just acquired a 1000 yard rusher from another team in Adrian Murrell.

The division will be tough this year. Even though the Cards MIGHT be better (your o-line still sucks, IMO) The Hawks will be strong, the Rams made some good moves, and even the 49ers improved. Also, I love Warner, but he won't last 16 games and I can't see Navarre or a rookie QB doing anything special.
