Amare said he thought it should be a "co-ROY", but I suspect that Carmelo got hurt by the fact that he is not as popular as a person compared to LeBron.

LeBron James won the award because he averages almost 3 assists per game more than Anthony. I also think that if the Cavaliers had a healthy Jeff McInnis ALL SEASON LONG they would have easily made the playoffs and had a record comparable to the Denver Nuggets'. IMO LeBron James could have and would have had the same effect on the Denver Nuggets as Anthony if they had won the draft lottery last season. I'm not so sure I believe the Cavaliers would have been as good with Anthony instead of James.

I would have been happiest with a shared award though. They both were deserving.

Dwayne Wade gets overlooked.

And Lebron James stats are inflated I think because Cleveland tries to do everything aroud Lebron.
Unlike Miami which has Lamar Odom ahead of Wade.

Screw the co-mvp's.

Lebron deserved it because he's the freak.

'Melo deserved second because he's the freak1A.

Dwayne Wade is very, very good.

The power he used to blow by Baron Davis will be remembered for years. (At least in my book.)

Reminds me of Joe Johnson in a lot of ways.

So here's a thought:

The last U.S. college player to win the Rookie of the Year was ... Mike Miller.

melo doomed all chances of getting the ROY of the year by not going in for that play earlier this season. after that there was never any real question about who is getting the ROY.

Don't forget also that while both of them vocalized about being left off the All-Star team, James never pointed out a specific player and said he was more deserving. I'm obviously not a member of the voting media, but that turned me against Anthony.

Well I was a Melo fan from the beginning, but I have to give Lebron props because I didn't think he would do as well with his style of play but he exceeded my expectations of him. That being said, I think melo deserves it because his team got to the playoffs, IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE!! In the east, one great player can elevate his team to the playoffs alone, IMHO. If Lebron was that good, the Cavs should have been in. With Z and Lebron, it should have been a done deal in the east easy, again IMHO. Melo lets the game come to him as he put up his numbers, while the Cavs made a concerted effort to get Lebron his touches. However, Lebron's big media hype won out in the end. :D

Cleveland should have made the playoffs. If McInnis had stayed healthy they would have blown by the Celtics and were actually #6 in the east before his injury. Would Anthony have been less deserving if Andre Miller had been injured?

Not only was Jeff McInnis injured down the stretch, but he wasn't even part of the team for over half the season. The Denver Nuggets were basically the same team all season with no significant injuries.
