CP's passes have not been as accurate as he has been all year the past few games. Granted he really didn't have much time to throw the first 3/4's of this game, but balls are sailing over recievers and his accuracy isn't quite the same as it was during the season. He did have some great throws and some horrendous ones as well. Do you think he was more nervous and pressing today or you think his finger plays a huge role in his throwing? Maybe both?

Both, we've seen him 'off' in both the STL and Pittsburgh loses, but his 'off' was a little more than normal

Carson Palmer is a great man & a very good QB. He's not clutch like Warner & he'll never be clutch like Warner. But, we are very, very fortunate to have him. His whole career has been a series of high points, only to see him throw a couple passes that boggle the mind. Bottom line, he may throw a couple of passes that prevent us from winning a Super Bowl. But then again, he may not. Regardless, we wouldn't be here without him. I've grown to really respect the guy. Btw, the finger is definitely adding to some inconsistencies. But, you'll never hear him complain about it or use it as an excuse. He's the ultimate professional. If the Cardinals were to win the SB, I'd be happiest for CP & BA. They both have had to overcome so much to get where they are. I'm just so thankful that they are on "my" team.

Its not his finger. Palmer always has looked like he lacked the nerve for games like this. The hope is now that he has a win under his belt he can play a bit looser. The Cards need a more calm Palmer to get where we want to be.

Agreed. I think, now that he's broken his duck, he'll be fine next game.

You wouldn't call that play, escaping 2-3 sacks with a Freeney spin move and throwback to Larry, clutch? Also, lest we forget, Kurt, for all his awesomeness, gave us 2-3 stink-bomb games every season...

If Carson's finger is an issue, after 4 weeks of healing, then I say break it again...cuz he was throwing better right after the injury, than he was last night.

He was very inaccurate last night. Has to be the finger. This, in addition to his having to scramble on every play because our line got depantsed in front of the prom queen on almost every play.

Our o-line was horrendous. GB dominated the line of scrimmage and harassed Carson night. However, there were a few throws that were pure head-scratchers. Not only because the accuracy was nowhere to be found, but it looked as if he and the receiver were nowhere near on the same page! It was very odd and very concerning...

I think there was some rust on our offense for the first 3 quarters. The first throw of the game Carson overthrew fitz by about 5-10 yards on an out route. I think we were amped up for the game and had a little rust that we finally shook loose. In the 4th quarter he looked really accurate and he was getting time and we were moving the ball nicely.

Clutch means playoff success. Palmer was very shaky last night, and he had never won a playoff game. Warner went to 3 Super Bowls & took miserable franchises there. Palmer threw 2 back breaking ints last night & should have thrown 2 more. Awesome play in OT, so I'll give him a reprieve. But rest assure, if he plays that way next week, we will get throttled.

Palmer has a long history of throwing into coverage and not looking off safeties. That said he has an amazingly strong arm, which BA needs to run his offense. The hope will always be that he makes enough big throws to offset the errors. A running game would help!

A nit: the first int was basically a punt. While not good, it was third and 10+ outside of FG range.

I've noticed in certain games with extra meaning, Palmer starts out inaccurate-- Against Cincy on Sunday night football as an example. I think dealing with pressure is a learned skill -- you have to experience it. It's good to get that experience and win. He needs to learn from it as I agree with your final statement.

been kinda thinking that as well....even the steelers game,...a win it for the coach kinda game,... we were playing poorly.

after that first pass sailed awry,...the look on Carsons face indicated he was like, "oh no, not again".... I really do think the man had to dig deep and pull up some fresh guts to get past the playoff monkey.
