This is from March 8th. Kolb had not even been released yet. It has no worth. Nothing personal.

Palmer to AZ? A trade? And if so, would we then be trading Hoyer to Pitt?

A trade is out of the question, Garth, as the Raiders will have no other choice but to release him anyway.

At this point we do not even know if the Cardinals are interested, nor do we know whether Palmer is interested in the Cardinals. According to MJ---Palmer's agent, David Dunn, is trying to hook Palmer up with a contender, even as a backup.

All I know is this. If we got Palmer, I would really think we had a shot (though not a slam dunk by any means in our division) to at least make the playoffs. I think Palmer still has some years of good football ahead of him :D

If we are that interested we could offer a 6th round pick and the Raiders would take what they can get.

Would his salary be doable after a trade? We would not have to pay signing bonus.

I want Palmer here.

There's some speculation that Palmer will be heavily coveted by the Bucs. That could free up Josh Freeman whose salary is $8.3M this year and is scheduled to be a UFA in 2014.

I don't buy the bucs talk. Haven't really seen the rosers to say who's who but the bucs should stick to freeman and nab a 2-3 rd qb for future use.

Az makes sense except ba naming starters early, I would imagine some competition needed if palmer comes in. Se who gets it quicker. Id name palmer starter right away but I don't know enough of stanton

Not complely out of the question:

@JasonLaCanfora: With the Raiders on verge of a trade for Matt Flynn, the Cardinals are nearing a deal for former Raiders starter Carson Palmer.

I think the only way a trade happens is if Palmer would take a pay cut to play here. I doubt the Cards are going to trade for him at his present salary.

For some reason or another, I am getting good vibes about this if it works out for the Cardinals. I feel much better about it than I ever did for Kolb.

Many ways of dealing with the $13m due in salary this season.

Its going to happen. I feel it in my bones, I do.

And after we draft Tavon Austin... look out NFC West defenses...

i just don't understand how people think adding another WR is going to help keep any QB upright with our abysmal O-line.

we draft another WR this year and I'll officially start calling for Keim's head because we will have turned into the Matt Millen Lions.

Palmer would want to be released and free to sign anywhere, which is the leverage he has. And a trade to AZ unlikely to light his fire...

Biggest holdup to Cardinals acquiring Palmer would be if he balks at re-doing his deal with them, which he obviously could...

Not a done deal.

Would be a surprise to people around the league if Oakland QB Carson Palmer winds up in Arizona. A real surprise.

Another one.

as much as I think Palmer COULD be a disaster in the making, it would give me at least a slight glimmer of hope for the upcoming season. We go into the season with Stanton as our QB and I feel like the season's over before it even started.
