I have the same gut feeling.

Me too. Not being able to even hold a football, much less throw one for this long puts an queasy feeling in cheesy's stomach.

Stanton will be better in his second game I think.

Many people here would have been happy with 2-2 after these first 4 games. Even those that thought they would make the playoffs. To me 3-1 feels about right because there is some part of me that worries about the other shoe dropping if they are 4-0. I would almost feel relived to get a loss and reset for the second 1/4 of the season after all that has happened.
This team is physical and resilient. They are well coached and managed. They will keep fighting and will win their share of games.
My WAG is that Palmer is back in 2-4 weeks. If not then Stanton will be like the next Brady (i.e. like taking over for Bledsoe and winning the SB) or he won't.

Playoffs or not it should be fun to watch. I think some people worry to much.

People comparing Carson to Manning need to know it's a completely different situation.

Manning had some really bad nerve damage. I highly doubt Carson had anything close to that.

Unless they somehow want to shut him down to save him, the only way he misses the season is if he can't physically go. (unlikely... he isn't a 25 year old QBOF and effectively is in his final year of a contract)

Now it wouldn't surprise me that he comes back and gets it dinged again and has to miss more time, but I highly doubt he misses the season.

Maybe I'm wrong, as I'm not a doctor, and I'm not a doctor who has examined Palmer's shoulder. But we have to remember he finished the game with that bum shoulder. So it wasn't something that immediately got damaged and made his shoulder non-functional.

Here's a good read on what happened to Manning. He had a disc damaging his nerve for four years. Somehow whatever happened to Carson, isn't that.

I'm betting Plamer won't be back this year

Who's Plamer? :D

I don't think he will be out the whole year. He will be back after the Denver game, if not on that game. Watch. ;)

Stanton was and is a backup for a reason. He may be able to game manage the Cards to a couple victories but there is trouble long term.

I still do not understand the lack of confidence in Stanton from a lot of people. He is mobile, has a good arm, won his first game as a starter (for Cardinals) in a place where west coast teams normally lose and has been around the game for a long time. I bet most Cardinals fans wanted Drew in there when Palmer was terrible for the first part of the season last year. I know I did. Glad Palmer finally settled in and got way better as the season went on. Yes, Stanton has a HUGE challenge with the 49ers this weekend, but glad it is a home game. Also, this Dwyer situation doesn't help, but 49ers are banged up and Kapernick had a horrible game last week to a Bears defense that is no better than our D. If Ellington can have a huge game, then Stanton will even have a better chance of succeeding. I may be a homer or just optimistic with this, but I can recall a former Cards QB that was a back up and got his shot and now he is on the ballot to go into the HOF. Just saying.....
