The article makes some good points for DJ being the best overall RB in the NFL, but it's rare for any RB to be a league MVP (Adrian Peterson was the last RB MVP & had over 2k yds rushing)... nevermind having that RB being on a team that's 5-6-1. Ezekiel Elliot isn't a good MVP candidate either... I'd put the Dallas O-Line as an MVP candidate before Zeke.

If we by some unholy or super holy miracle win out and DJ keeps putting up 100+yards from scrimmage per game, I don't know how he isn't the MVP.

League MVP or not, he's an MVP in my book. Right now, he's everything I envisioned in an NFL player when I was a kid (a long time ago:)). He's successful and humble at the same time, and he always makes the highlight reels... oh yeah, and he's a Cardinal.

I'd echo this.

I've said this before but he reminds me more of a Roger Craig, even if their running styles aren't the same.

The main reason I use that comparison is because Craig changed the RB position forever, due to his receiving skills and runs after catch, and I'm confident that if David stays healthy he will also change the position forever.

Nope, it'll never happen with a team like ours. MVP implies your team did something to impact the rest of the league because of that player. Our team isn't very good, even if we may have the best player.

Apologies for the double post, I'm too lazy to go to my laptop 5 feet away to delete it.

DJ is perhaps the most dominant player in the NFL. If he played for a winning team, he'd be unstoppable.

What pisses me off though, is we have a HOF player in Fitz, and we've allowed him to play in obscurity, aside from one run at the SB. DJ has to be looking at that and thinking this team sucks (and we do, don't get it twisted, what have we done). DJ is HOF talent. So I don't really know what the carrot is that we have to offer him. We suck as a team, and he's the best player on it, if you ask me.

Win out and make the playoffs and he gets 100 yards every game. He wins it. would be the only player ever to get 16 100 yard games. And his stats woukd be like 1450 rushing 1050 receiving!!! With maybe 15-16 TDs. No way he wouldn't win.
