Well taking Milliner at #7 will probably be as bad as taking Floyd at #13 last year, regardless of what we do in FA.
Don't agree on either point.

So having two top tier cornerbacks will make us better? I'm sure the Jets and Eagles would argue that. A pass rusher will have FAR MORE impact than a #2 CB ever would. Period.
If Milliner is the top player on the Cards board when they select, I'll have no issue with the choice. Period.
Michael Floyd Part 2.
Fine with me. Floyd was at the top of the board and a second wideout was an identified need. Locking down the CB position with high end quality in a passing league is not a wasted choice (IMO)
Good thing you're not the GM
Yes let's draft nothing but corners and wide receivers. They can play OL and QB, right?
Michael Floyd Part 2.
I would certainly rather have GuernseyCard as GM than you. His approach for #7 is to go for best player available while yours is to go for biggest need. You must be a Rod Graves clone. That got us Levi Brown instead of Adrain Peterson.
It seems that some still think Floyd was not worth the value of the pick, more than there was more pressing needs at other positions. Boy are some people gonna scratch their heads when Floyd takes off. You want to hear something amazing, he caught a TD pass deep from Hoyer...you really have to think back to our vaunted passing attack last year to realize what a stud he must be. We could not catch a TD pass at all last year in our final stretch. Floyd had a great game against a great defense with freaking Hoyer. I'm glad we have Floyd
That is a concern but Milliner shows plenty of ability to play man coverage. I wouldn't have a problem drafting him at 7. I'd take Milliner over Fisher every day of the week.Alabama CB's...... Too much zone..... Not enough press coverage.
I hope someone else makes the mistake of drafting him.
It's called balancing need and BPA. Going BPA is what got us Floyd instead of DeCastro, or Ryan Williams over Brooks Reed, Kyle Rudolph, etc.

Going need is what got us Levi Brown over Adrian Peterson, and players like Buster Davis, Courtney Brown, and Early Doucet,
Going BPA has gotten us players like Patrick Peterson, and Calais Campbell.
There are examples for and against, IMO. I like the term you used, balanced.
Unbalanced BPA would have the Cardinals getting a DT when we really don't need one, and unbalanced need would have the Cardinals drafting a QB in this this draft.
Where you and I disagree is with the mantra that it is never a bad time to choose a CB. Which in this draft it doesn't matter cause the Lions will draft Milliner, IMO.
I cannot see the Cardinals drafting anything but a OLineman with the 7th pick. The only other option I see is Dion Jordan, if he is there. Yet, I believe Warmack will be there at 7, and that is who we will pick.
Depending on who we re-sign, we may not be very deep at CB. I would be happy if I never had to watch William Gay cover, or should I say try to cover, anybody ever again. Fleming's progress will be a key.I might agree with that. What are our 2 deepest positions? Probably WR & CB.
People like to say "Oh it's a pass happy league so we must have lots of CBs".
No no no. The majority of a CBs production is based off of the pass rush. You could have scrubs at CB, but with an elite pass rusher their play is elevated. A "shut down" CB can only play man to man for so long.
What we NEED is a pass rusher. I personally think there are pass rushers in this draft that would grade close to Milliner. In that case, I would take the pass rusher because he fills both need and BPA criteria.
Same goes for OL. I believe Chance Warmack is the best player in the entire draft. Pair that with the need of an OG, and we've got our selves a very very good pick.
I believe Floyd will turn out to be a good pick. But LOOK at our OL! Do people forget that our OL was one of the worst in NFL HISTORY? What about our QB? No point in having a bunch of top talent receivers when you don't have...
A) A QB to throw to them
B) An OL to protect the QB
C) An OL to open up the running game
