My guess is they still resign Tramon Williams... someone has to play the slot.

How do we even have any cap space left for him?

Bucannon about to be cut?

And be replaced by who?

I could actually see a situation in which he's extended, which would take cap burden off for this season

They seem to be targeting guys coming off injuries in order to get them cheaper? He, Matthews, Pugh, Smith & Bradford all missed significant time last year.

Buc has to be cut or renegotiated. He’s marginal in a 4-3.

Good cornerback if healthy. Assume he gets a one-year 'prove-it' contract while the new regime develops young defensive backs.

They have no cut Jared Veldheer yet, and he is a man without a position on this team right now.

The move would clear about 7mil in cap space.

EJ Gaines is a really good cornerback but the reason he is a free agent is injury issues, as is most free agents.

The man without a position is Andre Smith. A $2.5M cap hit is called a backup.

I know it would be hard for fans to accept that Keim may actually be able to bring in good players on cap friendly deals, but I will stick by my statement that Andre Smith is your starting right tackle next season, unless John Wetzel beats him out some way.

So, agree to disagree for now and we will see who is out there in OTAs.

Just lost Honey Badger. How does it makes sense to cut Buck?

Deone Bucanon is a weird situation.

Not sure his play warrants and extension and having him on the roster for 8+mil, where if he is cut there is no dead money penalty is something to keep an eye on.

An extension from the team, trade, or release will lower his cap number, but the question is do the Cardinals want to make that move with him. Right now he is your WILB for this team, and the only ILBs I see besides Deone, is Bynes, and Reddick. Not a real strong position right now for this team.

I think you are right. I expect to hear an announcement this coming week that Veldheer has been cut or perhaps traded.

I'll agree to disagree, but it's not about thinking Keim can't do cap friendly deals, that's actually been his forte. It's that Andre Smith is not starter material. With Veldheer, we have a built in backup LT, because Humphries has had his injury issues as well. I'm a fan of Wetzel as a backup.
