Nice. In theory this would absorb the extra cap hits in later years for the Fitz restructure. (Rumored estimate that it will bump up the cap by 4 million per year starting in 2015)

Also glad everyone will now be able to enjoy Thursday Night Football.

Good to see. It was getting annoying having to go out to a bar or something to see what amounted to an awful game most nights, and equally annoying to have to pay for a sports package that really only has one network I really desperately wanted.

Not a Phil Simms fan, but net net I guess it is a good thing that more people can to enjoy the games on 'free' TV.

I think the major impact on the cap increase is going to come next year. I think Directv's exclusive right to Sunday Ticket expire this year. Whether the NFL opens that package up to bidding, or even if Directv retains the rights, it's going to be a massive contract and provide a serious windfall for the NFL.

Right now unless I go out the only tnf game I watch is the cards (its simulcast on channel 3) so I just got 7 more games a year regardless.

I would love it if the NFL came out with a tailored made package so you could buy a season pass for the teams you are interested in. I love Sunday ticket, but $400 is way too steep.

Agree. I usually watch The Red Zone Channel or the Cardinal games. I do occasionally surf to other games though to check teams out.

This year, with the NFLN/CBS package including 14 games instead of last year’s 13-game slate on NFLN, the league will conduct a total of 17 Thursday games after the first Sunday of the season. (Three short-week games are played on Thanksgiving, but not televised by NFLN.)

The change means that two teams will play an extra Thursday game after Week One.

I said this announcement was coming in a previous thread where Robert kraft also said a team will be in London and LA so it looks like those things should be coming soon. It's nice that they are bringing back Saturday doubleheaders as well. My favorite Saturday game was when Billy got hurt celebrating and Tillman did extra points.

Well, only 8 are over-the-air, but maybe CBS will stream the second half games online like NBC did.

If not there are plenty of online sites to view the games in HD.

NBC's online stream was the best of the networks in my opinion. ESPN was second best. I hate having to use XBMC for NFL Network games and UFC fights, I can never get a 100% clear, consistent connection.

the mk808 is an android pc on a stick. Basically what you get on an android tablet except in small stick form. You plug it into your TV and it works over wifi. However, HD over wifi can be hit or miss depending on your wifi speed.

XBMC is a media center app for viewing content. I've never used them together, so I don't know how it'll work for streaming sports games not broadcast locally.

I've got my own media PC plugged into the TV and there's a specific site i use for watching games. Pretty much any sporting event is available. I use the VLC player - available for mac or win and others. If a VLC stream is available, you can stream in HD.

I have Directv and use this method to watch the Pac12 network.

Many sites just link you to another site that uses Flash to stream it. This quality is generally poor. If VLC streams are available that's the way to go.

I used to stream NBC's game on the computer and watch it on live tv. Sometimes the stream was a few seconds ahead of the broadcast.
