Haha. Mark Jackson: "Garnet was just explaining to Frye that he wasn't undercutting him." Was he also explaining that he wasn't slapping him in the junk piece? I'd rather have a guy swing at my head than graze me there.

This little brawl was great for Gortat to show he is down, he is officially a Phx Sun!. LOLopez would have just stood there. Hopefully this will spark the team for the rest of the game.

Garnett is just too lazy to guard the 3 pt line and he didn't want Frye to get comfortable shooting the 3 or worse, he was trying to injure Frye.
I hope he gets fined or suspended, it's on tape. He did the same thing twice.

Ok, Gentry, you can take Carter and Nash out.

Great win. Celtics played like crap, but the Suns didn't really bring their A game either, whatever that may be. In particular, the Suns shot poorly from the outside and the turnovers were still abound (18). Still, the Celtics never got the game closer than 9 in the second half and the Suns won by a good margin (17).

Gortat win a huge double-double (19/17). Lopez also didn't play bad in limited minutes. Nash with another double-double. Carter with 17 points. And Pietrus got some minutes and scored 11.

As for Garnett, even if both times he undercut Frye were accidental, he should know better than that by now. The league needs to look at that, because the risk of injury is so high on those plays. I'm glad he got tossed, even if for a different reason. The Suns ended up with six free throws in a row as a result of that little altercation (though missing two). I don't think I've seen that before.

If Nash would have hit all three T's and Frye all three free throws, instead 2 out of 3 for each, it would have been a 6-point play.

How many times in your lifetime would you see a 6-point play?

This better be not be a tease. Pisses me off when the Suns give hope but then lay an egg the next few games.

Why can't they either consistently be good or consistently be bad?

BTW my boy Gortat BEASTED! I have the game on DVR, I can't wait til I watch it! 19 pts, 17 boards against KG? GORTAT is EASILY my 2nd favorite player on the Suns. Great defense by everyone holding them to just 71 pts and 34% shooting!

But we turned it over 20 times, despite them having the best defense in the NBA, we still have to do a better job with the ball against a team coming off game yesterday. Frye shot a pathetic 1-7 (but I heard he got KG ejected, so props for that)

BTW can anyone give me a quick summary of what happened to get Doc Rivers and KG ejected? This way I know what to look for when I rewatch the game. Thx.

GO SUNS, but we have to make up our mind, are we tanking or not.

I know people were complaining at the very start about Frye's defense on Garnett, but other than that short time before he was ejected, Frye did a very solid job on him.

Carter is a total mystery. The guy is one of the best professional basketball interviews I've ever seen--I wish he was more passionate about playing for us.

Pietrus was impressive--had a couple bricks, but actually put the ball on the floor at least twice.

And Gortat... What can you say? This is a guy that barely knows our plays! IF we keep Steve Nash and Gortat gets better, he could be in the conversation for all-star status next year. Probably won't be an all-star, but he might just play himself into the conversation. And I still don't think it matters if he starts or not.

When both Grant Hill and Channing Frye both shoot incredibly poorly, yet we win, you know it was a good defensive game. We actually didn't play all that great, but we did enough on the defensive end to win. Hell, we even outrebounded the Celtics by 5!

Not the prettiest win of the season and not my favorite (that would be the Lakers in December), but this ranks as probably the most satisfying of the year.

This is the kind of win we need more than beating Wizards or New Jersey!!

Looks like the game got pretty physical or KG just likes to bark too much. The highlights showed that we were pretty physical too (for once!!). Get used to it, KG. Your team does the same thing too. In fact, I read that many players said KG is a very dirty player? He likes to elbow a lot.

Anyway, this is a very satisfying win. I guess we just need to play Gortat more...

It is interesting that the Orlando players (Carter, Pietrus and Gortat) really exerted their presence in this game. I think it is not a coincidence. Gortat is proving to be the center the Suns always wanted. Dragic is increasingly becoming a weak link for the Suns.

Garnett has really pulled a Hollywood Hogan since being known as one of the league's great guys in Minnesota. Straight up dirty play: contesting a three pointer by going underneath AND striking Frye in the crotch? Yeah, that's quality defense right there... I did like seeing Frye stand up for himself immediately, since he often seems like a softer player.

And Gortat wading right into it, but not at all as a hot head? Loved it. He really needs to finish more on the baskets Nash serves up to him, but his overall play last night was fantastic. If he's as thrilled to play for the Suns as he seems to be and brings toughness to the Suns at the same time--we might really be praising this trade in the long run.

I praised the trade when it happened and I am still praising it now regardless of the Suns struggles. This was an excellent trade by Lon Babby. Teams are seldom able to trade for a quality young center (Gortat) especially on a reasonable contract. The other parts were not bad in the trade either considering VC is basically an expiring contract with a buyout. I think Pietrus might have a future with the Suns not to mention the first round pick. The Suns seem to do good trades with Orlando.
