Thanks for giving the Suns credit for a hard fought series. Celtics fans chanting Beat LA like our series is over. Come on Suns, beat the Lakers and then trash the Celtics.

Dude they've got "BEAT LA" Tshirts printed out and everything. They must have passed them out because half the fans are holding them up.

Wow, really Boston fan? I'll be rooting for you to get your asses handed to you now regardless of who you play.

And I thought they were sending a message of encouragement towards the Phoenix Suns to Beat LA. Wow. Guess they don't want a rematch of the 1976 finals. Payback is a bitch.

they had those shirts in Game 4! ESPN did a little story on it.

Seriously, we need to give everyone who wants to see Celtics-Lakers a huge ****-burger and then kick Boston's ass.

All starts tomorrow.

I feel much better about the possible prospect of facing the Celtics than I do about the current task of surpassing the Lakers. Celtics have shown they struggle with dribble penetration and they struggle to score when they don't defend well.

I hope Amare is watching it! If he can be a monster again, Lakers can't beat Suns at our home court.

There would be no better way to send an FU to the league and end the "curse" than to beat the Lakers in LA and then beat the Celtics.

The Suns are in a very tough spot and probably won't make it out, but the only way to finally win a title--and have others remember it for years--is to beat the most popular teams, in the most intense, heart-breaking (for them) fashion.

This reminds me on of that article on ESPN a while back when we were killing SA. About how when a struggling franchise brakes through the wall, it will happen in the most unlikely way. Taking you to the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. I think that's how this will end. The suns making a run agents all odds. But we have to play tomorrow, I know we can win in LA if we can just protect home court.

You guys are hilarious. It's tradition in Boston to chant beat LA if there is even a chance to play them. Nothing to take personally.

But if you are a conspiracy theorist then yes, LA is going to the finals because it is in the NBAs best interest so the refs will do everything to make sure it happens.

Anyway, go Suns! I want to see a Nash vs Rondo duel.

It is quite a long time for resentment of Boston from the mid '70s. I don't know about most people, but compared to LA and San Antonio, Boston is well down my hate list. Jumping the gun and getting bent out of shope over their "Beat LA" chant is just silly. I don't care who is playing the Lakers, but to me "Beat LA" never gets old.

I actually like the current Celtics with KG and Allen. Hard to hate these guys, and I'd have loved if their careers would have taken them to Phoenix.

That said, I would feel really confident about a Suns vs Celtics match-up. It is not as in 2006 or 2007 when I felt that if we could get past Dallas/ San Antonio, the first championship would be a certainty, but I'd love our chances.

Bert - it is just part of the Lakers-Celtics rivalry and not meant as a slam on the Suns. The Celtics played the Suns once in the Finals nearly 3 and a half decades ago. They've played the Lakers 11 times including just 2 years ago.

We're going to have to agree to disagree here. I have no problem with Ray Allen but Kevin Garnett is in a contest with Paul Pierce to see which guy can piss me off the most. Right now, it's neck and neck. I liked Garnett early in his career but he's become a walking, crying, trash spewing foul machine. When you add in cheap shot Perkins and the lazy man-child Davis it just gets worse.

Despite what they did to us in 76 I've always respected the Celtics and usually found myself pulling for them when it wasn't at our expense but I can't stand the current group. My hatred for the Lakers is a life-long thing but I find even LA more palatable than this Celtics squad.

Who cares what the crybabies in Boston would do? It's not meant as disrespect to the Suns, its just a matter of pure hatred for the Lakers by Celtics fans. They'd be stoked if the Suns beat LA because they are always happy to see LA lose. They don't care who beats LA as long as LA loses.

The Lakers and Celtics have played each other in the Finals 11 times (Boston has won 9 of the 11). They have a long standing rivalry going back to the '59 Finals before the Lakers were even in LA.

This rivalry has Havlicek & Baylor, Cousy & West, Russell & Chamberlain, and Bird & Magic.

Of course Boston fans want the Lakers. It comes natural to them, they were raised with Lakers vs Celtics. Their fathers and their grandfathers lived it.

The best claim to fame Suns' fans have to boast about is a miracle last second Gar Heard shot to tie a game that the Suns lost anyway.

Can't blame Celtic fans for wanting LA or being prepared for it either. Let's be real...
