I believe someone mentioned that the Celtics might be interested in Bamba. If it were true, this is why... to protect the rim.

They need a rim protector but I doubt Ainge trades anything other than picks to get Bamba. Parting with players isn't his MO. He'd probably include Rozier but that's only because they plan on keeping Smart and that makes the decision whether to pay Smart or Rozier. Irving isn't going anywhere. They keep their youngster's in hopes a star veteran is available. Like if KAT is really available, I'm sure Boston would trade their Sacramento pick, whatever other picks they're owed, and Tatum to bring him in. If it also cost them Brown I could see them ok'ing it also but that wouldn't be ideal for them since he's not a rim protector. Ainge seemed like he was on the verge of being fired before he got the Big 3 together and won a title and ever since then no one has been better at trading youth for talent and talent for picks. It's insane how good he is at finding deals.

It's wise to not deal with Boston unless they don't have the money to hang onto a player. Aron Baynes might be a good back-up center and he is a free agent.
