I cannot see how this guy is still starting, still playing, still active......heck, still on the roster.

He is horrible. He is a bust, it happens, but compounding the mistake by putting him on the field, is the bigger issue.

Sign Dontrell Inman, and sit Williams.

It really is amazing. How far do they go with this? We get he was drafted but come on.

He is literally never, ever open. How is that even possible in today's NFL?

Chad Williams - still on the roster
Brandon Williams - still on the roster
Deone Bucannon - still on the roster
Haason Reddick - still on the roster
TJ Logan - still on the roster
JJ Nelson - still on the roster
Rodney Gunter - still on the roster
Robert Nkemdiche - still on the roster

Not all of these guys are bad. This isn't about good or bad really. It is just a point to make regarding Steve Keim and Wilks. Wilks, unlike many coaches, did not cut ties to a bunch of fringe roster players like many coaches do when they take a job. He has kept them, and yet, few are seeing meaningful snaps. Either Wilks/McCoy doesn't understand what players he needs to execute his scheme, or Keim wanted to try and justify his job by hoping these drafted players could make a positive impact.

You can't completely overhaul a roster in one season. With that said I have no idea how Brandon Williams or JJ Nelson made this roster.

Bears repeating that this is a rebuild year, despite what Wilks and Keim tell you. This team was always going to struggle. I didn't think it would be that bad; but either way, the fact remains.

Frankly, I thought McCoy was a better play caller than this and that Bradford wasn't a complete lost cause. The two have to take much of the responsibility for this team's demise. We've lost the battle for TOP every game, and that alone is making the defense worse than it actually is.

As for Chad: I'm not ready to cut bait with him despite his early struggles. I still think he has good potential as a WR3, and perhaps with Rosen throwing him more accurate balls, he can improve. Kirk is clearly WR2 at this point.

Really? I somehow remember Keim and Arians more or less completely overhauling the roster in his first season. Bascially burned the previous team to the ground and started fresh.

That team won 10 games.

That team still had players like:

Sam Acho
Daryn Colledge
Jim Dray
Paul Fanaika
Rob Housler
Bobby Massie
Nate Potter
Daryl Washington

Those are all players who were inherited and didn't last but a year or two with BA. None of those players made a giant leap under BA. They were place holders until something better came along.

Sure you can. Arians did. Most new coaches do. Like I said, not all of these should have been cut or weren't needed, but this is a ton of guys who showed very little coming into the season and yet were kept. Now, to no one's surprise, only a couple are actually making meaningful contributions.

Daryl Washington started 12 games and had 3 sacks and 2 INTs. What in the world are you talking about?

Daryn College played 95% of the offensive snaps in 2013. Bobbie Massie was a starter the next season.

You realize what this reply says about Wilks, right?

We have

Chandler Jones
Patrick Peterson
David Johnson
Justin Pugh
Josh Rosen

that this team is building around. You might be able to add Budda Baker and Mason Cole to that list. Other than that, everyone is pretty much on notice until they show something otherwise.

William's isn't the problem. There are multiple problems, starting with play calling, execution and up front. Start there.

If Chad Williams is not the problem, why can't the guy get open ? It seems like any ball thrown his way is a sure INT, or close to it. I am not sure how a wide receiver that cannot get open is not a problem.

Sorry, but I very much disagree.

When you are not a dynamic speed player, and you only run certain types of routes, guys like Fitz and Williams will not get open. I don't know if Chad Williams is a good player or not, but I do know you can't just run him on crossing routes and dig routes and expect him to get open.

Yes, your route running needs to be perfect to shake guys on those routes.

This offense looked really good when defenders were falling over and guys were running uncovered through the secondary. Problem is that doesn't happen very often.

right?? and back then we got to bitch because even winning 10 games didnt get us into the playoffs, lol

the SK plan, even with BA in the house was clearly geared towards us being competitive next year... the salary cap shows that.... tanking this season to get great draft picks to go with our $95-$100mil in cap space next season should benefit us in the long run.
I aint saying they are tanking on purpose mind you... but it sure would be easy...say, hire an OC the entire NFL knows is inept...let him call his own plays,.... then fire him, blame it all on him...and hire the guy you actually want after the tank is complete.

then just draft well* and bring in a few decent free agents and VOILA...the team is winning the division in 2019

* "Draft Well" just cannot be stated around here without an asterisk that it is SK doing the drafting

Well that sounds like wishful thinking!
