I think the season opener is the logical answer, and I would expect an official announcement of when they are doing it on the Cards website, they always announce things like that ahead of time.

Whenever they unveil it the cool thing is that it will be up there every game for the rest of our lives.

Fans of most teams won't appreciate what it means but those of us who have been fans of this franchise for years sure will.

I've been a fan of the baseball Cardinals all my life. I've seen them win 4 World Series titles. I'm the third generation in my family to graduate from the University of Texas and my uncle played there with Bobby Layne. I've seen them win 3.5 National Championships.

I watched my 13 year old daughter win an NFL Flag Football National Championship and my son make a play in a youth league all-star game so good that the coach ran out of the dugout to hug him in Center Field.

I've made a hole in one playing golf.

But nothing in my sports life compares to how great it was to be in OUR Stadium when the Cards drove the ball the length of the field to beat the Eagles for the NFC title. Nothing.

that's awesome.

I think watching my little brother win the arlington, tx 4th grade football city championship almost brought me to tears. more-so than any cowboys or longhorns game. that's why you love sports. I enjoyed Glendale Stadium when I was in AZ. the banner will hang nicely there. well deserved for all AZ fans new and old.

I understand completely!! I too am a lifelong Cardinals baseball fan & saw 4 WS Championships. I've seen Syracuse win National Championships in Football (1), Basketball (1) & Lacrosse (10). I've seen my beloved Canadiens win 7 Stanley Cups & I've even seen the lowly NY Knicks win titles back in the early 70's.

I have boxes of old trophies from playing competetive sports growing up & a Buick that I won with a Hole in One is still sitting in my garage. But SOMETHING was missing. When Dockett finally hit the turf (I was screaming get down, get down, get down the whole time), I didn't know whether to celebrate or cry - so I did both. Justin (cardsfanmd) ran around the basement screaming at the top of his lungs & I extended my arms straight up & wept. A moment that I will take to my grave.

Justin running around screaming is cool but the game just has a very special place for those of us who have been die hard fans of the Cardinals for 40-50 years.

I am totally stoked for you ---- that moment was VERY special for many of us die hards. It will FOREVER be burned into our memories, and (after all), those memories are the ONLY thing we take with us when we go.

You guys act like we've reached the summit. 2008, was a magical year no doubt, but until we have won a Super Bowl Ring and trophy I'm not content. 2nd place is the 1st loser!!! It's been 61 years since we have won a championship (2nd longest streak in sports) and until we win 1 I can't die!!!

Man, when you have 40 jillion losing seasons in a row, and not just normal losing seasons but constantly snatching defeat from the jaws of victory and then getting worse, finishing Dead A last in points scored and points allowed, 2008 IS the summit.

For now.

I was there a few weeks ago for Monster Truck. It was hanging in the NW corner of the rafters.
Finally!
That is the NFC West Division banner that's been there since it's unveiling at the end of last season.

I don't know if there is going to be a NFC Conference Champ banner...

2nd being the first loser is a term for foot races. I'm pretty sure the first loser was the Lions, followed by the Rams and so on.
